He's issued a terrible non-apology type apology on Insta. Full of qualifiers and buts. He's sorry to any one offended by his 'Middle class women ' comment but he was in a bad head space. It gets worse and worse. Half way thru listening I was like "Get off social media, you mug'

Crimson Dynamo 02-12-2024 08:38 PM

The BBC have championed him non stop for 20 years

Do not pay them anymore

rusticgal 02-12-2024 09:31 PM

He looks like an arrogant twat who thought he could get away with it…a big headed self entitled idiot who can’t own his behaviour.

…I mean, surely that’s what his closest advisors are saying to him and that would be the kind version…’he’s sorry for the upset that he may have caused some people…’…what people are those, then…are they the middle class women of a certain age or are they the ones that he made feel uncomfortable with his sexualised repartee…he wasn’t in a good headspace and felt under siege…what sort of headspace does he feel that those women felt that he made feel uncomfortable when they were working with him in their professional lives…I imagine their headspace wasn’t great, either and when they did speak up…and it was all allowed to continue to what it is now…

…that apology was nothing other than me, me, me…and ‘the bad day that he was apparently having…’….no addressing or mentioning at all of the bad days his comments may have created…and how helpless those comments can make people feel …still no self ownership or even awareness at all, it would seem…

You can see why he has pickled a Younger Wife.

And Lady his age
he can not handle well...........

For the Master Chef BBC1HD show, to carry on
they must replace Greg.

It is the only way it can go on.

He sounds like a smug arrogant arse, that said I would have hoped that some of these women complaining called him out at the time? Does Penny Lancaster really need Rod to go into bat for her? Kirstie Allsopp? I appreciate complaints have been made to the BBC, but I would have hoped that some of these high profile women just didn't stand back and accept his behaviour, I have an issue with the women being called 'victims' as well

What Amazed me today
was Melanie Sykes
left working on TV because of him

[Gregg Wallace was the reason I quit TV,
says former presenter Melanie Sykes:
MasterChef contestant labels judge
'unprofessional' with 'an extra helping
of arrogance']

Agree with all of that. Most women I know, in real life and on here, would have pulled him up at the time. I'm sure all the women on here have had to deal with this kind of stuff at least once in their life, probably more. You have to let them know that sh1t isn't going to fly with you. As for him apologising, once it's said, no amount of apology is going to help you take it back. You just can't unring a bell.

Cherie 03-12-2024 09:38 AM

I swear Sykes was on social media talking about her sex life as well, so I dont think she would have been taken aback, she is just taking the opportunity to push herself back onto TV after falling out of favour

A woman rang into James O Brien yesterday recounting some episode where she and her husband squeezed into a lift and she was the only woman in the lift and a voice from the back said this must be her dream, and her husband had to say that is my wife you are speaking to, and all these years later she recalls it, and at the time she worked as an Equal Opportunity Officer and she couldn't shut down some twerp in a lift  ...and James was treating her like she had suffered some terrible abuse....it was comical honestly

I support the BBC airing the episode personally.

Fans, producers etc shouldn't lose out on exposure or watching one of their favourite Shows because Gregg Wallace is a possible criminal if the groping allegations end up being proven to be true.

Jeez... what's wrong with these people? To be honest, I'd probably have laughed that off. It pales into insignificance when I remember some of the things that were said to me when I was a waitress and a barmaid when I was at uni, it would send some of these wilting flowers of women off into a swoon.
