Well that was possibly the worst match I have endured over the last 10 years

They are both filthy, cheating teams

I will avoid them like the plague

Spurs already 3:0 up against Burnley (supposedly a water tight defence !)

I did predict top 6 for Spurs ( and ManU)

WH were crap last season, they haven't strengthened their squad, so why do people think they will be better this season

Zizu 16-08-2025 06:19 PM

Interesting to see Silvinho missing from the City squad

Looks like he’s on his way to way to Spurs who are hopeful about also signing Eze -though so are Arsenal ..

Also interesting to note that even though Lewandowski isn’t fit tonight.. Rashford is still on the bench !!

I still believe that they'll stay up.

They were supposedly dire today !

They were known as having a great defence but I hadn’t realised they had lost two out of their back four plus their keeper !

Tbf, they are playing against an improved Tottenham team.

To quote Wayne Rooney when he helped relegate the sixth best Championship team before he managed us that season, Tottenham finished in a false position last season, they're a better team than 17th.

I think that Burnley has a shot at beating Leeds, Everton, Wolves, Sunderland, and West Ham on their day, and possibly Brentford.

Don't get me wrong I think that Burnley's Football will be ugly to watch, but I could see them squeezing out enough 1-0 victories to stay up this season.

Re Sunderland winning yesterday, last season, none of the promoted clubs won a game until October!

yeah, there was an obvious difference in class last season, probably more than any other in recent history. However, WH are not in a good place. They narrowly avoided disaster last season and if teams are just a little bit better on a given day this season, they could get a result against the likes of WH. I will tell you later today if Man U are still in the same boat

Chelsea on now

It will be interesting to see if James manages to make it through the game unscathed

Clear push in the box !!!

Chelsea’s continued defence and keeper issues

Fabulous goal from Eze will add a few million to his fee

Crappy VAR disallowed yet another fantastic goal … VAR was never intended for cancelling goals ffs

Crazy passing by Chalobah causing more problems

Palace goal disallowed because a palace player was within a metre of the Chelsea wall !!

WTF ??

Loads of players stand in front or next to defensive walls surely

Jees

Chelsea stunk the place out today .. 5 or 6 England players on view as well

Any other day they’d have won 1:0

Bizarre

Winning the Club World Cup was great, but Chelsea have played a lot of competitive football over the summer, more so than any other PL side, and it showed today.

It wasn't awful, but not very good. Palace are solid side, they had a good gameplan and it worked.

We'll see how it goes in the next few games, a draw is not ideal, but not the end of the world. Only the first day.

Chelsea did struggle to find a decent rhythm in the game, Palace were very physical. Could say Palace were robbed of a goal, but Chelsea should have had a pen in the first half too, clear push in the back on Enzo, so that kinda balanced things out.

0-0 draw to the current FA cup holders, meh, not awful. No reason to panic, yet.

Fair take on things

I was expecting so much more but it’s true they looked tired
