Robbie Williams's strike is over. The pop singer has set aside his grudges and packed his mining pick - sorry, microphone - and will be returning to the hard slog of singing for millions of adoring fans.
Though it was never officially confirmed, Williams had for months been understood to be striking for music-making, turning his nose up at Guy Hands and the new management at EMI. But according to Williams's manager, Tim Clark, the singer has been writing songs for some time and may release an album next year. "I would certainly hope that a new album will be coming next year," Clark told BBC Newsbeat this week. "There are never any guarantees but that's what we would hope." "I was with Robbie last week. He was at home and he was writing songs and he played some of them to us ... We heard some wonderful stuff." While some of us had imagined Williams in a dark, run-down flat, firing gunshots at a Guy Hands poster and scribbling anti-EMI diatribes all over the walls, Clark painted a different picture. "He's in very fine spirits, in very fine form and I think what he's doing sounds really wonderful," he said. And although the songs may turn out to be vitriolic hate-letters to studio suits, they will most certainly not be about extra-terrestrials. Clark dismissed rumours that Williams's interest in aliens had trickled down to the songwriting process. "It's been pretty much exaggerated in the press, as if that is anything new," he said |

Gary Barlow has vowed never to take a flight with anyone more famous than himself.
The singer, who recently flew from LA to London with David Beckham, 33, and Gordon Ramsay, 41, fears no one would care if he were involved in a fatal accident. ‘I could just see how that would be written: “Football star and top chef in plane crash,”’ he tells The Sun. ‘Then in the last paragraph: “Pop singer Gary Barlow was also on the plane.”’ Gary, 37, and Take That stars Jason Orange, 38, Howard Donald, 40, and Mark Owen, 36, recently visited former bandmate Robbie Williams, 34, in LA. ‘Rob’s looking really well at the moment,’ Jason tells the Daily Mirror. ‘We went out for dinner and he was telling us he’s been chilling out and writing a lot. 'I don’t know if it’s all about UFOs but he’ll be bringing something out soon.’ Now Magazine Take That's new single, Greatest Day, is out on November 24. |

London, Oct 11 (ANI): Popstar Robbie Williams is all set to buy an estate in Los Angeles for a whopping 12 million pounds.
Williams has already signed the contract for the two-acre, seven-bedroom mansion built on a celeb-studded estate in Los Angeles. The Rock DJ hitmaker will be moving in the Mediterranean style mansion boasting of seven bathrooms, a guesthouse, separate staff quarters and a huge terrace, fountains, a pool, spa, and grand two-storey entrance, with Hollywood actress girlfriend Ayda Field. Williams bought the fine looking home in Beverly Park Estate, the most high-quality gated community in California, from Hollywood actress Luciana Paluzzi. Robbie has been looking for a new house for a while. He knew the area he liked and decided it was time to start afresh with Ayda, The Sun quoted a source, as saying. They had a spell where he was reluctant to settle down but he wants to show her he is serious by moving into a new place together properly, the source added. Williams new neighbours will include many high profile celebs like Rod Stewart, Denzel Washington, Eddie Murphy And Sylvester Stallone. (ANI) |

British pop star ROBBIE WILLIAMS is back to his musical best, according to his former TAKE THAT bandmate GARY BARLOW.
The Angels singer has been on "album strike" due to discrepancies with his record label EMI and its new owners, business giant Terra Firma. But he recently announced plans to end his two-year career hiatus and release a new album next year (09). Barlow was treated to a sneak preview of the new tracks - and has given them the thumbs up. He says, "We had some great hanging-out time with Robbie in Los Angeles and he played us some of his new stuff. It was really good. He started out with us so we have a connection." Pure Robbie |
