Who do we all think will win Pop Idol?

Another drink please Boris white wine please

LEE 22-11-2003 10:41 PM

I think it will be Sam, but I would prefer it to be Susanne

BigSister 22-11-2003 10:45 PM

I think Sam too Lee

LEE 22-11-2003 10:48 PM

I've never thought much of Sam, but I can understand why people say he is the most obvious Pop Idol out of the remaining contestants.

I thought he sang brilliantly tonight though, second only to Susanne.

or did that look more familiar?
I'm the featherweight of lightweights when it comes to drink Boris. More than several pints and the vision gets blurry, the legs wobble, the speech undecipherable and lots of hugging strange people I don't know ensues :spin2:. So it's orange and lemonade from now on please barman. 'Hic'.

AndyJK 22-11-2003 11:30 PM

I'm going to stick my neck out here and say Chris will win Pop Idol this year. For several weeks he's put in a bad performance and been criticised by the judges, he has received a high share of the votes cast. He is a very good singer, and obviously the girls like him. In the end it will be between Chris and Sam.

I am into hugging in a BIG way Andy, so never mind about all that boring stuff, drink what you like and hug away to your hearts content.

As fo 'Pop Idol' I am afraid i have been to busy in the bar to watch it. My bar manager has been conspicuous by her absence and these youngsters who are emplyed to collect and wash glasses keep NOT turning up ! They will lose their jobs soon.

TextDi d you hear that girls ?????:conf::shocked:

sweetlittlesara 23-11-2003 04:00 PM

I am here reporting for duty Boris :xyxwave: oops wrong thread...but yes I am still here, just tucked away in the corner doing my maths coursework whilst its a bit quiet in here, but dont worry I am still doing my job!!

LEE 23-11-2003 05:07 PM

Well my excuse for watching Pop Idol is that as Entertainments Manager I am always on the lookout for new acts to book

That's my excuse anyway and I'm sticking to it lol

Amy 23-11-2003 05:26 PM

I'm always to drunk to collect glasses i usually end up dropping them

Boris 23-11-2003 06:40 PM

We had noticed that Mrs.O'Leary:nono:

BusyBee 24-11-2003 06:19 PM

And I am there working myself to a frazzle in the kitchen with that rather tasty chef just to keep you lot in snacks to wash down the drink with.

Think I'll go on strike tonight and come out for a tincture or two. Got any Pernod in. I've gone back to drinking Pernod and lemonade rather tasty.

So make a space for me at the bar tonight please.

Boris 24-11-2003 08:23 PM

There will always be room for you to pop out for a moBusy Bee....BUT.... I am a little confused:shocked: I thought you were making 'tasty' morsels for the customers, not testing another type of tasty morsel yourself. I have to say I always found chef a triffle 'stand offish'. You obviously have got something that I do not ! Maybe I can borrow it sometime.

Ready for that break and a quick Pernod now ????

Cheers!

Sticks 24-11-2003 09:59 PM

thought you ought to know

Two gents came inearlier, ordered a round and then proceeded to tip the drinks into some measuring cylinder. They then shook their heads, jotted something down and left.

Me thinks it may have been a spot check by the trading standards and things did not look good

BusyBee 24-11-2003 10:15 PM

Sticks it was just a couple of the competition from over the road whose little bar has now gone out of fashion and they wanted to check just what this new watering hole has that they havent.

Well now they know. There's something for everyone in this Bar and always a friendly face.

Boris you just dont know how to 'handle' him - he's a pussy cat really. Think I might need to put in some overtime.

But that Pernod went down a real treat - just what I needed.

My track record is NOT what it ought to be BB ! I will have to put in some overtime too I think.

Mrs. O'Leary Ithink you had better take up the vacant post of cleaner. I don't think I can afford the cost of new glasswear !

Errrr.... Mr. Sticks Will you please stop making me panic! I know my measures are ok but it really does make my heart skip a beat when I ear about such things. Glad to hear that it was only the disgruntled competition:mad:

Cheers !:dazzler:

BusyBee 25-11-2003 08:28 PM

Think perhaps we might need to have a rota system - all willing volunteers put their name on the list on the bar please.

After all Boris as hostess has to have assistance in the running of such an upmarket bar full of such high class clientele.

kaphc 25-11-2003 09:48 PM

Careful BusyBee, we're starting to sound less like a bar now!!!

Seriously Boris, we can't let you get overworked though ... how about you sit down, put your feet up and we'll bring you a nice long drink?

Romantic Old Bird 26-11-2003 11:42 AM

Can I apply for the vacant space at the end of the bar? I fancy myself as a 'Norm' type character whom everyone greets with bonhomie as I waddle into the place on a nightly basis.

In this case of course it would be 'ROB!'

Instead of a trusty sidekick called Cliff, I suspect it might have to be some other drunken dim-witted inveterate.

Any volunteers?

BigSister 26-11-2003 04:32 PM

Can I be employed too?
I can only work after 5 and at weekends but I will work hard
