Dead or Alive singer and Big Brother reality show star, Pete Burns and ex- boyfriend Michael Simpson made a very graphic sex tape which was recently leaked onto x-tube. The video disappeared a few hours later. It is not known who leaked the tape, some said it was Pete himself to get back at Michael for his two-timing ways, but now Pete is insisting that he is not pulling a Paris Hilton. Pete released this statement via his webpage,

“Ok. I have seen it, everybody else will. I personally have absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. I can’t speak for the other party involved in this, but then much to my horror during November it became clear that in the 5 years we were together half of London club land has participated in this sort of Side Show with my partner. Some of this evidence emerged through a tabloid and several of the participants attempted to blackmail me. I tried to keep a lid on it but it’s been an ongoing debacle. I assure you this is not a Paris Hilton Stint on my part.

I have my ideas, who has actually sold this to a film company (because believe me, there is more). I didn’t expect the dog to escape from my own kennel. These highly personal home movies were only ever in Michael’s possession. As you can see, we obviously didn’t participate in safe sex, I trusted he was monogamous. I have since found out that was a cast of thousands and Michael’s flavour was definately ‘unsafe’. you can imagine how I am feeling right now. My career looks like it’s going to explode, I just hope my health doesn’t.”

Pete and Michael have always had a rocky relationship. After divorcing his wife of 25 years, Pete announced his engagement to Michael on February 9, 2006, only to call it off a day later. In March 2007, Burns and Simpson got into an altercation, resulting in Pete’s arrest.

Pete Burns has split with his hubby MICHAEL SIMPSON - less than a year after they wed.

The Dead or Alive star, 49, has kicked him out their London home. A source said: "Pete's delighted it's over."

Pete lived with footie hardman NEIL RUDDOCK last year when he and Michael were on Channel 4's Wife Swap. He said of Michael then: "He loves me. I'm in a happy, loving place." A year's a long time in showbiz.

When he flashed his engagement ring on the sofa with Richard and Judy, pop star Pete Burns told of his happiness at the prospect of becoming the latest celebrity to marry his male partner.

But now, just ten months after the big day, the singer has split from Michael Simpson, saying civil partnerships do not work and that he was happier being married to a woman.

Burns, 49, who was wed to stylist Lynne Corlett for 28 years, said gay relationships were a "commercial break" compared with the "full movie" of marriage.

Burns followed in the footsteps of Sir Elton John and Little Britain star Matt Lucas in using the new civil partnership laws to announce his public devotion to his lover.

He dressed as a geisha girl in a kimono for the ceremony in London on July 7 last year.

He told The Mail on Sunday he had been "optimistic" about his civil partnership, but now he says: "I learned the hard way. It's a total joke."

Burns accused Simpson, 40, of being unfaithful and admitted he felt disillusioned. Burns added that some gay couples had "open marriages" where the partners could be unfaithful.

He said: "There's a lot of promiscuity in the gay community. I don't understand why they take that union. How low is their self-esteem?

"One's on Hampstead Heath meeting men, the other one's hiring rent boys. "Surely marriage is throwing anchor and saying, 'This is where I'm staying, I've made my choice and this is all I want because I've been on the up and down escalator, through the revolving door and I want to stand still.' That's what I expected."

He added: "I don't know what goes on in many heterosexual marriages but I know mine was 28 years.

"She was the best 'husband' I ever had. You sometimes meet a person who you completely love. We're still really, really close. It's not about sexuality, it's about the person."

Since the Civil Partnership Act came into force in December 2005, there have been 18,000 gay marriages in Britain.

Burns said: "I view marriage as a sacred institution. I think two men naturally are predators. Gay relationships are a commercial break, not a whole movie.

"The relationships I'm aware of, apart from one ... it's as though there's some kind of emotional inadequacy or narcissism, where they feel emotionally inadequate and need more validation, from either a father figure or a mirror image of themselves. "I'm not condemning it, I think it needs researching and help."

Burns and his band Dead Or Alive had a No1 hit with You Spin Me Round in 1985, but his career went into decline until he went on Celebrity Big Brother in 2006.

He met Simpson at Joe Allen restaurant in Soho in 2003. They announced their engagement on Channel 4's Richard & Judy Show in 2006.

Last week, police launched an investigation after Burns alleged that Simpson had assaulted him at home, breaking his collarbone.

Burns said he wanted to file for divorce. He added: "Would I get married again? If somebody knocked me on the head with a nine-inch nail-studded plank or drugged me with benzodiazepine ... No, no, no."

Derek Munn, of the gay rights organisation Stonewall, said: "Civil partnerships have brought joy and fulfilment to thousands of lesbian and gay couples.

"Just as with marriage, some relationships may fail."

Mr Simpson was unavailable for comment.

Burns Gay Pride rumours denied

A representative for Pete Burns has denied rumours that the singer scrapped an appearance at a Gay Pride festival in in Gran Canaria because another band was using his song.

It was reported yesterday that the Celebrity Big Brother star stormed away from the event after learning that Bearforce1 included part of Dead or Alive hit 'You Spin Me Round' in their set.

However, his online PA said the star was "hyped and excited" ahead of the gig on Saturday night but had arrived too late due to airport delays following a last-minute booking.

He was reportedly replaced because the festival's organisers believed he would be unable to make it.

Pete Burns won’t be spinning right round in gay pride line-up

A NORTH-EAST gay, lesbian and bisexual festival has dumped Celebrity Big Brother star Pete Burns after he stormed out of a gay pride event in the Canary Islands.

The singer, who rose to fame with 1980s band Dead or Alive, refused to play at the Gran Canaria Gay Pride Festival and is reported to have destroyed his hotel room shortly after.

It is claimed that the 48-year-old stormed out of the Maspalomas event last week after hearing another band singing a cover of his smash hit song, You Spin Me Round (Like A Record), which is still a dance-floor favourite.

Following the spat, Burns parted company with his booking agents Create Music, who had booked him to play the Rainbowfest in Aberdeen on July 5.

But festival organisers have decided against re-booking the star through his new agent.

“We have decided that we don’t want to go through similar issues and therefore are not booking him through his new agent,” a spokesman for the festival said.

Burns launched himself back into the public eye with his appearance on last Celebrity Big Brother 2006, where he starred alongside comedian Michael Barrymore, MP George Galloway and US basketball star Dennis Rodman.

He has been replaced at Rainbowfest by The Original Bucks Fizz, who won the 1981 Eurovision Song Contest.

They will be joined by dance favourite Booty Love, who have had two top 10 hits in the last year. Also on the bill is So Solid Crew member Lisa Maffia

The family event, which is organised by Aberdeen’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community, takes place at Queen’s Links.

It will be part hosted by Jan Hamilton, the Stonehaven soldier who became the first officer in the armed forces to have a sex change. As Ian Hamilton, the 43-year-old served in Northern Ireland, Bosnia, Afghanistan and Iraq but last year became Jan, and has since featured in a TV documentary.
