Madonna hospitalised after horse-riding accident
http://entertainment.timesonline.co....02_510416a.jpg Madonna does not have much luck when it comes to riding horses. The 50-year-old pop icon has been hospitalised after falling from a horse while riding in New York on Saturday – her second horse-riding accident in four years. Madonna received “minor injuries and bruises” during the accident which occurred while she was riding at the Hamptons estate of celebrity photographer Steven Klein on Saturday. Her publicist Liz Rosenberg blamed the paparazzi for the accident, saying she was thrown off the horse after it had become startled by photographers who jumped out of some bushes. "Madonna who was thrown off a horse earlier today has just been released from Southampton Hospital with minor injuries and bruises," Ms Rosenberg said in a statement released on Saturday. "The accident occurred when the horse Madonna was riding was startled by paparazzi who jumped out of the bushes to photograph the singer who was visiting friends on Eastern Long Island over the weekend. Madonna will be having further tests and continues to remain under observation by doctors." It is the second horse-riding accident involving the American singer in recent years. In 2005 Madonna cracked three ribs and broke her collarbone and hand when she was thrown from a horse while riding at her estate at Wiltshire, south-west England, on her birthday. She later described that accident as “the most painful event of my life”. It was also blamed in media reports as the catalyst for the breakdown of her marriage to British film director Guy Ritchie, who she divorced in November. Madonna was visiting Klein at his Bridgehampton estate in the Hamptons, a popular holiday destination for the rich and famous on the east end of Long Island. According to the New York Post, Madonna was dressed in a full riding outfit, including a helmet, and was performing jumps in front of a group of about ten people when the accident occurred. Her rumoured boyfriend Jesus Luz, 22, and her two sons Rocco, eight, and three-year-old David Banda were with her at the time. Klein has photographed Madonna many times over the years, and in 2006 shot the pop icon in a series of images with horses for a spread in W Magazine titled “Madonna Rides Again”, just seven months after her first riding accident. Saturday’s accident caps off a turbulent few months for Madonna, who announced she was separating from Ritchie in October. Earlier this month she became embroiled in another controversy while trying to adopt her second child from Malawi. A judge unexpectedly refused Madonna’s application to adopt a girl named Mercy, on the grounds that the singer is not a resident of the African country. Madonna is appealing the decision. http://entertainment.timesonline.co....cle6124880.ece Poor Madonna  |

Madonna Dating Man Called Moses
http://cdn.showbizspy.com/static/200...onnamercy3.jpg Despite reports earlier this week that Madonna had rekindled her romance with Brazilian model Jesus Luz, it has been claimed that the Material Girl is now dating Jewish millionaire businessman Abraham Moses Schimmel. And at 44, Moses — who is also known as Marc in business circles – is double Jesus’ age. “It’s bizarre, you couldn’t find two men more different,” a source tells the News of The World. “Jesus isn’t happy about her relationship with Marc, but she enjoys his company. “They are both divorced with kids and there’s a deep spiritual connection that neither of them have ever experienced. “Everyone thinks they would be great together. Marc’s ready to take things to the next level. He knows Madonna needs time, but he doesn’t think Jesus is right for her. “Madonna doesn’t want to rush into anything serious but Marc has been brilliant for her. He’s been her rock over the breakdown of her adoption in Malawi.” http://www.showbizspy.com/article/18...n-called-moses |
Photographer denies Madonna horse claims
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/showbiz/...se-claims.html A freelance photographer has denied claims from Madonna's spokesperson that the star fell off her horse on Saturday because she was startled by the paparazzi. Madonna was reportedly hospitalised after the incident and sustained minor injuries and bruises in the fall. Thomas Hinton told Newsday: "As far as I'm concerned, the only photographer present when the accident happened was [her host] Steven Klein. "If a photographer startled a horse, I'm thinking we would have seen the pictures by now." He added: "That would be such an egregious thing to do, to trespass and startle a horse. The police would have been looking for a photographer." Hinton said that he was at the scene before the fall but left because his view was obscured by bushes. When he returned after the accident, he said that Klein and his staff stood in his line of vision to block photographs, but Hinton added that Klein did not confront him and that both parties were "polite with each other". |

Madonna gets appeal date in adoption battle for Malawian toddler Mercy James
http://images.mirror.co.uk/upl/m4/ap...-698437882.jpg Madonna is preparing to fight the next stage in her battle to adopt Malawian toddler Mercy James. Her appeal to take the four-year-old girl into her family will be heard by three Supreme Court judges in the African republic on May 4. The pop queen was initially refused permission because she did not meet residency requirements. The new hearing will be held in private and Madonna, 50, who already has an adopted Malawian son, David Banda, three, does not need to attend in person. Malawi requires prospective parents to live in the country for 18 to 24 months while child welfare authorities assess their suitability - a rule that was waived when Madonna was allowed to take David to London in 2006. Madonna's lawyer Alan Chinula said he was hopeful the appeal would succeed because the ruling was based on an "archaic" law. At the initial hearing, the court said it feared setting a bad precedent. But the judge did not question Madonna's good intentions, and praised the singer's charity work to feed, educate and provide medical care for Malawi's orphans. Madonna says she just wants to give Mercy a loving home and the best education and health care money can buy. She added: "It's my hope that she, like David, will one day return to Malawi and help the people of her country." |

Madonna records new track with Oakenfold
http://images.digitalspy.co.uk/08/37...ss_madonna.jpg Madonna has recorded two new tracks with dance producer Paul Oakenfold. The singer has scheduled two weeks of studio time to record new material for her upcoming greatest hits collection, according to her publicist Guy Oseary. "Had a good day with Madonna in the studio yesterday," Oseary wrote on her website. "She worked on an amazing dance track with Paul Oakenfold producing - no title yet but will keep you posted. She also started a second one, so we are hoping to have two tracks done this week. "Next week she is working with another producer on one more track. Two of the tracks from these sessions will be on the Greatest Hits album." Madonna's upcoming collection will mark her final album with Warner Records after she reportedly signed a $120 million (£86.6m) deal with concert promoter Live Nation. http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/a1...oakenfold.html :dance::dance::dance::dance: |
