Humbug, the eagerly awaited third album from the Arctic Monkeys has leaked onto the internet nearly a month before its official release date of August 24.

The previous two albums by the Sheffield band 'Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not' and 'Favourite Worst Nightmare' also leaked in 2006 and 2007 but they still managed to top the UK album charts.

The band planned the original release date of August 24 so it would be out in time for their headline slots at the up and coming Reading and Leeds Festivals which

Arctic Monkeys have announced that they have hidden "golden tickets" to the Reading and Leeds Festivals in selected copies of their upcoming single.

The band previously announced the release of exclusive 7" versions of 'Crying Lightning' through Oxfam charity shops.

Two copies of the single will contain a code to give the buyers free tickets to the festival, while another 40 will be signed by the entire band.

Another 15 signed copies will be sent out at random to those purchasing the single through Oxfam's online shop.

The single will also be available as a 10" vinyl in normal shops.

Arctic Monkeys top the main stage at the Leeds Festival on August 28 and headline at Reading the following day.

Still nothing about Ireland though :bored::bored::bored::bored::bored::bored::bored:: bored:

Over on the albums chart, Arctic Monkeys are pretty much guaranteed to replace Calvin Harris at number one.

Calvin Harris has insisted that he won't mind being knocked from the top of the UK album chart this weekend.

The musician's Ready For The Weekend disc made its debut at number one on Sunday, but is expected to be pushed down by Arctic Monkeys' Humbug at the end of the week.

In an interview with the Daily Star, Harris claimed that topping the chart was achievement enough and he is pleased about the continuing success of the Sheffield rockers.

He explained: "Getting to number one in the album chart is the best thing I have achieved in my whole life.

"I can absolutely guarantee that the Monkeys are going to be number one. I love them. They have such a massive fanbase, which must mean they are doing something right. They sold more records in one day than I sold last week. They are the biggest band in the UK."

Looks good, third consecutive album to debut at number 1! (4th for Alex)

Iceman 27-08-2009 10:34 PM

P. Diddy has reportedly urged his fans to buy a copy of the Arctic Monkeys' new album.

The Sheffield indie rockers released their third LP Humbug earlier this week, and Diddy, who has a widely-publicised friendship with the band, voiced his support of the record online.

Posting on his Twitter account yesterday while the Arctic Monkeys were on stage in London, the rapper encouraged his 1,819,849 followers to purchase the LP.

"Go get the Arctic Monkeys' new album Humbug!!!!!!" he wrote, adding his online catchphrase: "Let's go!!!!!"

Diddy's support of the group grew when he and drummer Matt Helders became friends after meeting at the Miami Dance Music Conference.

Nice Endorsement by Diddy!

Great first week for them, debuting at Number one in UK and Ireland! :hello::hello:

Iceman 30-08-2009 09:36 PM

Arctic Monkeys have notched up their third consecutive UK number one album.

Their Humbug LP outsold the rest of the top five this week to debut at the chart summit.

Meanwhile, French dance star David Guetta has to settle for second place with One Love, home to his number one singles 'When Love Takes Over' and 'Sexy Bitch'.
