well she didn't really get a bunch of album sales this time :joker: thats why the singles have done so well

Callum 23-01-2012 07:04 PM

I love how Gaga's "little monsters" are getting so angry about this just because Katy's slaying the competition left right and centre. :joker: Can't blame her for trying to get another number one.

Smithy 23-01-2012 07:10 PM

yep, slaying left right and centre with her 30 album sold :idc:

More like 5.5 million sold, but she's always been more of a singles artist anyway. :idc:

The singles have sold over 30 million worldwide and five of the six went to number one. Something which Gaga couldn't achieve.

Doogle 23-01-2012 07:18 PM

Why has GaGa been brought up?

Smithy 23-01-2012 07:20 PM

because callum is pathetic and can't defend katy without bringing up superior artists :idc:

I keep seeing on forums and various sites that the people who are getting pissed over this rerelease are Gaga fans. Nobody was moaning when Gaga rereleased The Fame back in 2010. The Monsters just hate Katy because she is getting loads of no. 1 singles and Gaga has only achieved 1 in the BTW era.

I'd hardly call someone who blatantly copies from the original Queen of Pop Madonna superior personally but each to their own. :idc:

well looking at ATRL and SIN two of the biggest music sites online, it looks like most people just think that's it's just a pathetic attempt at getting a7th #1

noone complained because it was justified, the music was so much better than the stuff on TF, rereleasing an album with a bunch of leaked tracks is just sad

well yes someone trying to argue for katy perry it has to be each to their own

Doogle 23-01-2012 07:30 PM

Ftr I was pretty pissed when she re-released TF. I'm not a fan of re-releases at all. So it's not cos It's Katy. To me though it does seem like she's only doing it for a 6th #1.

Doogle 23-01-2012 07:31 PM

Having said that TFM was amazing so I wasn't too annoyed. Just wish the UK sold it as an EP like the USA did.

Most of the people complaining are Gaga fans like I previously mentioned which is a tad hypocritical considering Gaga did the same thing with The Fame Monster. It doesn't matter if the new tracks are old demos or whatever, a rerelease is always done to get the artist more #1s. Gaga's label were pushing her to rerelease The Fame because she was at the top of her game back then. How do you even know it's going to be just old material? Yes, it's likely two old demos will be on the rerelease but there's probably going to be more than 2 added tracks so it's not "just sad". :idc:

Why shouldn't she though? I'm sure if other artists were in the same position they would do the same. When Gaga rereleased the Fame she was doing it to get more number ones and it worked as both Bad Romance and Telephone became #1s over here.

Callum 05-02-2012 02:18 PM

Part of Me is going to be the lead single from the re-release. :D I would post a YouTube link of the unfinished version but her label removed every video of Part of Me and Dressin' Up when the re-release was announced. I can see it being a big hit for her.

Niall 05-02-2012 02:28 PM

Re-release. :bored:

So lazy.

Callum 05-02-2012 02:43 PM

Well to be fair the TD era has been a huge success for her so I'm not surprised she's still continuing with it. I'd much rather this than her to do a Rihanna and release a new album every year even though TD was released 2 years ago now so she could get away with releasing a new album, I think she may do later on in the year. She probably hasn't got enough material yet for a brand new album.

Andrew. 05-02-2012 02:52 PM

Love part of me! i do hope it is a big hit for her! i do believe we will get a new album from her maybe, end of this year, beginning of next? i think the divorce will give her alot of songwriting ideas and the next album will most likely be darker due to the divorce, or she could do a Kelly Clarkson and do the whole 'stronger, moving on' thing?

Yeah same, I'm sure it will be though seeing as it's produced by her long time collaborator Dr. Luke. The unfinished version is great so I have high hopes for the finished version.

I think she may release a brand new full album in the fall, I'd be surprised if she released it any sooner than that. I'm sure there'll be a few songs about the divorce on it. She said she wants to go more acoustic for her next album so she may even go in a brand new direction genrewise but I hope we still get some pop gems from Dr. Luke and Max Martin on there too.

Katy Perry announces 'Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection'

http://i2.cdnds.net/12/06/618x548/mu...onfection.jpeg
The singer will put out Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection through EMI on March 26.

The collection includes three brand new tracks as well as the LP's six singles 'California Gurls', 'Teenage Dream', 'Firework', 'E.T', 'Last Friday Night' and 'The One That Got Away'; all of which topped the Billboard Pop Songs chart.

"This is the complete story of Teenage Dream," Perry said.

"It was an incredible honour to tie the King of Pop's Billboard Hot 100 record, but I'm moving forward and had a few things left to get off my chest. So this is the complete special edition of my album for my fans."

The record also features a seven minute Tommie Sunshine megamix of all six singles, as well as the remixed versions of 'E.T' with Kanye West, 'Last Friday Night' with Missy Elliot and the acoustic mix of 'The One That Got Away'

This is a no-brainer. Madonna over a half-arsed re-release with like 3 new songs. :nono:
