Thank you so so much everybody, especially Andy and David for even thinking of doing this!

We've had to cancel our holiday we had booked for next month, so this money will go towards an even better holiday once this is all over!

Not yet, the holiday company refunded us £300 or thereabouts, but we do have travel insurance so we will eventually be fully reimbursed, we just have to get reports from the docs etc :)
We hadn't paid the full balance thankfully.

Ammi 23-05-2014 05:10 AM

..I know this didn't go exactly to plan but that's the least important thing of it...you two really are great guys .....

He's doing really good at the moment.. He's putting on weight, doing really well with his physio, he has no infection and his blood counts have started to move in the right direction :amazed:

Dave and I have been receiving training on how to administer his feed and medicine through his tube as there has been talk of being allowed home for a few days if his white blood count reaches a certain level.. His next course of chemo starts in a week or so, so he'll be back to being fairly poorly again.

Hopefully he'll sail through it

ah that's great news Lee, kids are so resilient, would be good for you all to get home for a bit too and for Lara, has she been able to come see him yet?

No :( He's still in isolation so Dave and I are the only ones allowed in.

She's coming over tomorrow though and I'm going to spend the day with her

You all deserve the best holiday ever once this nightmare is over, hope we manage to send you off somewhere amazing to make all this go away  xxx

Stu 24-05-2014 05:46 PM

I have only seen this now and have just donated so hopefully I'm not too late.

Not sure what to say, Lee. I'm crap with stuff like that. Sending wicked mental energy love your way, I guess.

I'm stunned by the idea, David and Andy. Respect. It's so incredible when you see real heart bubble from the primordial soup of a dirty ol' Reality TV message board. Well done.

Lee. 03-06-2014 02:23 PM

Just thought I'd update you all on Samuel's progress.. We waited patiently last week for his blood counts to reach an acceptable level and eventually they got there and we were sent home on Wednesday until yesterday.. We had a great time seeing family and enjoying little things like home cooked meals and our own shower!
We're now back in hospital for another 5/6 weeks and he started his 2nd cycle if chemo last night... He's currently really well and we came back to the news that he is now in remission! Now we just have to hope that the next 3 cycles of chemo keep him in remission :)

Lee. 03-06-2014 09:43 PM

Thanks everybody.. On the downside, the chemo has already started to affect him and he's been a grumpy wee ****e all day  However it's good to know that it's the strong chemo that's making him poorly now, not the leukaemia :)

thesheriff443 03-06-2014 09:51 PM

its lovely news lee.

..yeah, there is a child that I know who would call them their 'grumpy days' and those off days after the chemo must be quite miserable for them ..but it's a grumpiness you van put up with because for great reasons, Lee..he's grumpy because the chemo is working to make him well...

Ninastar 03-06-2014 10:31 PM

So happy for you  he's such a cutie... even if he was a grumpy little so and so today

Black Dagger 03-06-2014 10:36 PM

ahh that's tough to see him going through that but it's working, that's the main thing, he'll get over the chemo sickness
