Because real world Andrew and BB Andrew aren't two separate entities. They all make up what he's like as a person. :shrug:

If we have got a monster in the house it will show us what the other housemates are made of... If the allegations are true and he still has the same outlook on life I feel sorry for him but it will be exciting to watch it unfold...see who's got the balls to successfully take him on, who's smart enough to outwit him, who's weak enough to pander to him, whos kind enough to try and educate him and who's so selfish and dumb they still only care about how they look in the mirror....why wud we wanna evict him before all that entertainment even begins ? Maybe our fave housemates will prove to be pussys, maybe the ones we thought were boring will take him down...if we throw him out we'll never know....I wud love it, I wanted so badly for someone to take on Helen and not one of em had the bollox....I wanted so much to see Chloe taken down and no one had the brains to even see what she was....maybe this time some one will smart enough and strong enough to entertain us for once....having him in the house is a gift

I think you'll find a majority don't think he should be ejected and are willing to judge him from his time in the house but that doesn't change the downright disgusting things he's posted on social media.

Because her housemates were, Dumb and Dumber, Danny Wisker and Poser Christian...everyone was so obsessed with Marc O'Neill they we're too busy to see what Miss Hit and Run was up to and she took the cash right from under their noses....got to hand it to her really, even if I do dislike her

Most of the voting public won't have known about her past. And of those that did, perhaps a lot of them weren't bothered by it. That doesn't automatically mean that people who do know and are bothered by HM's pasts are wrong.

They're not though. Housemates are different to people and Big Brother is not real life. Yes he seems like a massive twat as a person, but within the confines of the house and an entertainment television programme he has yet to display any of the same prejudiced views. If he does, then fine. But what exactly is the point in us watching the show for two months if we're just going to judge the housemates by what they've done outside of the house in their real lives? It's not like we know that much about them either

I mean we may as well just find out about their entire life histories and get character references from people who know them, decide who has the cleanest background and choose a winner like that rather than wasting time watching the show? What's the point in the housemates showing up if what they do in the house isn't how we're going to judge them?

It is though. Big Brother isn't real life, it's an entertainment television programme. You cannot honestly tell me the false, heightened environment that is a glorified television set is akin to the real world because it isn't. And there's a difference between housemates and people too, because the former are effectively characters in an unscripted soap opera.

Like I said to Lilbro, if we're gonna judge housemates by what they've done outside of the show, what's the point in us watching or the housemates bothering to show up? The idea is that they start on a blank slate and then their actions in the house determine what we make of them, or else there isn't a point in the show existing in the first place

Big Brother is real life with non-fiction people it isn't a soap opera with fiction characters... Andrew said some racist/homophobic stuff which makes him a racist/homophobic as a person.. he isn't playing a fiction character on big brother.

How do you know he isn't? We know from previous experience there's been housemates who have acted up or played a character/persona (which they're entitled to do), who can say he isn't so far? We have nothing but a few tweets to judge how he is in real life to compare, so.

And no it isn't real life. It's an unscripted soap opera, the housemates are characters and the edit constructs a storyline. You cannot honestly tell me living in such a false environment which is a glorified television set, along with all the things that are thrown at them along the way, resembles the real world in any way shape or form. It's an entertainment television show.

Playing up to the camera/persona etc is not the same as playing Stacey Slater on Eastenders. He's still called Andrew and is a real person like Joey Essex because he also has a persona. Big Brother is a RTV/Entertainment programme and it's real life despite them trying to force some storylines down our throats but they are not fictional characters. So therefore Andrew is a racist,sexist and homophobic scum bag :)

Err...when did I say it was? If you'd read the posts properly you'd have seen on both occasions I said Big Brother is effectively an unscripted soap opera, no the housemates do not have script, no they are not being told how to act, but the show Big Brother itself is in effect a soap. The editors construct a storyline and the housemates are the characters. And if someone so chooses to play out a persona throughout their stay, that's their prerogative.

Regardless, that isn't really my point. Big Brother doesn't resemble the real world in the slightest. When have you ever had to sit around in your lounge with pictures of the people you live with and nominate two of them to be evicted? When have you ever had to guess what each of their secrets are? When have you ever had to dress up in shock suits or throw fish guts on one another? What about have an argument over a shared shopping budget written on a blackboard? How about living in a secret room watching over the people you live with with cameras and headphones? Turn your house into a faux hospital and take on different roles? Sit in cardboard boxes for as long as possible? Any of these things? Because if you have, you've certainly led a more interesting life than me!

Big Brother is the furthest thing from reality. They may be real people in body, but within the context of an entertainment television programme and the confines of a glorified television set, they are housemates. And there is a difference between the two. Plus, these days you only see them for 48 minutes a night, so you hardly know them as people at all do you?

Andrew may be all of those things in his real life, but he's yet to be inside of the house and so judging him for things that have yet to happen renders the existence of the show a little pointless :hee:

Erm you just asked me how do I know he isn't a fiction character so can you stop saying I don't read the post when I obviously do, Stacey Slater is a fictional character, Andrew on big brother being himself or playing up to the camera is not a fictional character.

Sitting in the lounge is a everyday thing and people do have pictures in frames of family and friends etc :shrug: and you don;t particular nominate people (landlord's job really?) and getting an eviction notice is basically up for eviction isn't it? Tasks and things are basically going to work to pay for shopping etc. It's all linked to something in your day to day life.

The tweets is all I need to know I don't care if someone was arrested for drugs and things (nothing serious) but if they made ignorant comments especially homophobic because I am gay myself I'm going to judge them and not like them...

Andrew is a real life person on a non-scripted show playing the game by being a real life person who said ignorant things in real life on a real life non-fictional show.

That's hardly an Insult to the country. How do you not know he wasn't joking?
