Cody
Eh Cody was a bit **** for me and like I don't know why but I just didn't like him. He reminds me of grotty young children high is already an immediate turn off. His little weird crush on Gwen in TDI was ****ing weird and terrible. Then like the whole Sierra thing was **** because there's so many times he could've just told her but instead it was a series lard that went needed. |
Just a brief reminder of the time in WT where Sierra saved Cody's life for the gazillionth time from drowning and the following exchange happened:
Sierra: Oh Cody... if one of us drowns, I WANT IT TO BE ME. Cody: .....M-m-me too... Dirty |
I watched some clips of Cody in TDI earlier and he actually came off as a bit perverted especially around Gwen :skull:

73. Lorenzo
https://orig00.deviantart.net/bdc0/f...ck-d9c83z1.jpg don't go to their deviantart. I beg of you. Total Drama presents: The Ridonculous Race proved that Fresh TV could churn out a cast rich in quality and quantity. However, like any cast, some characters were hit and miss - and that's to be expected, given the fact this introduced the most characters in any season ever, at 32. Most of the misses (Tammy, Jerry and Pete, and the Vegans) left early, and because of this, they remained enjoyable - their gag didn't become overplayed and unbearable and they didn't stay over characters that are more interesting (Mother and Daughter, Fashion DESIGNERS). Then comes along the Stepbrothers. They may have been funny in the 00's (Emma's "pwn'd" comment just proves we had decade old humour in this spinoff) but I just couldn't imagine myself ever laughing at them, no matter if I was as young or younger as TDRR's target audience. The Stepbrothers were so annoying. They appeared in over half a season and their only interactions were with each other until after their elimination. Now, yes, they are in a competition against everyone else, but the team eliminated before them (Jay and Mickey) had interactions with the Sisters, and the team that placed ahead of them (Dawyne and Junior) had interactions with the Best Friends and the Surfers - basically, pretty much every team (at least, that made it to the point they did in the competition) had interactions and life outside of their teams. And yet they placed higher than many (I'd say objectively, but I'd argue factually) better teams (Fashion Designers, Mother and Daughter, hell even the Vegans were better!) who could have had more development in a similar manner to the Stepbrothers, but development that make them into actually enjoyable characters? It was clear they were supposed to become civil towards the end of the competition - it was an apparent narrative from the getgo. But did it really need to take half a season? Half a season of tedious arguments over tiny things? And then, when they do become friends and set aside their differences, they just become obnoxious. Remember Cody's air guitar confessional back on TDI? That was essentially Chet and Lorenzo's character for the two episodes they got along for... and it was still boring. The decade old humour was NOT worth the half-season build up and NOT worth seeing better teams leave over them for. I appreciate some storylines require time to develop (which is why the 13 episode seasons fall flat), but some also, well, don't. If they made up by episode 6 and were eliminated, there would be literally no difference or impact to how enjoyable they are (hint: they're not enjoyable, at all, any nothing will change that). I just didn't find myself rooting for them, nor for their reconciliation, so over half a season worth of arguing over the price of butter just felt so... wasted and awful. There was no pay off, and while there wouldn't be a pay-off no matter how long it took (be it 2 episodes or 26), they placed too high, and I will forever be bitter about that. Now that was a writeup for the Stepbrothers. So what about Lorenzo? Well... nothing. They aren't individual. Before making up, they acted and argued the same. Then, after they made up, they became more unified, made clear by how they spoke in time and shared the same ideas. They share the same personality, and it's not endearing like Katie or Sadie, oh no no no. It's just... boring and awful. I also do NOT appreciate how they were like one of the three teams to speak in the finale. Don't force them down my throat again. edit: also yes I called them the fashion DESIGNERS just to spit you riley x |
The Vegans are NOT gag characters, especially Laurie

Save Shawn
I don't REEALLLYYY care for him all that much, but I like him better than Sam sorry. He was kind of funny in PI with his zombie obession though it did start to get old eventually. Him and Sky honestly wouldn't be my pick for the Final 2 of that season but imo he's the more deserving winner over her Cut Sam He's just.... not interesting? Sure he had that cute plot with Dakota and all but when he was in no way an All-Star and served pretty much no purpose at all in that season other than being the bad comic relief. I still don't understand why they brought him back instead of someone better from the 2nd cast like Brick or Anne Maria |
Sorry it's late haven't had the chance to get on until now!!!

Fun fact: Anne Maria was meant to be in All Stars but got replaced by Gwen (I don't see how Gwen wasn't guaranteed given how AS was meant to resolve the love triangle and Anne Maria would give an 8-6 ratio of ROTI to original cast which just feels... wrong)
|
I can believe that though because of the RoTI bias AS had to it, and not just in the boot order
|
Fun Fact: Harold, Owen, Cody, and Brick were all also originally planned to be in AS but were either a) replaced by each other, or worse b) all were replaced by Sam
|
Harold or Owen easily could've filled Sam's comic relief pain magnet early boot shtick far better and funnier and plus it would've made his random conflict with Alejandro in Food Fright make more sense since Harold and Owen both have an established conflict with him, and it would've been great to hear either say "It's not breakfast anymore Alejandro... it's dinner time‼"
