DIRE for The Circle considering how much it's been promoted. Literally featured on every C4 ad break for about 3 weeks, always promoted on social media, and billboard and bus posters. And still it flopped!

I think we just have to concede people don’t care about this show anymore. After c5 has well and truly overkilled it to the ground and the last time it was well and truly relevant was like a decade ago....

But also like I don’t wanna live in a world where love island gets 4mil and Bb barely scrapes 600k lol

Well clearly there are people that care but nowhere near as many as there used to. It's a cult show with a core audience of about a million when you take into account online viewing figures. I think Netflix or somewhere similar would be a good home for it and hopefully endemol can persuade them!

Yeah I just mean the general public. It’s only ever actually talked about after some huge controvocy then it fades back into its devote audience. It’s more of a relic at this point in the general public consensus, which is kinds bleh to come to terms with considering how much ****ty love island is talked about by like everyone asdfg. At least they can cash in on the publics weird obsession with celebrities with Cbb!

This is hilarious because they paid hundreds of thousands to skip those adverts - it went straight from bake off into the circle and everyone still didn't care :hehe:

682k (6.4%) is awful BUT it's up on the C5 average for 10pm by 2.2% share points and the 16-34 demo is up nearly 50% - even a **** rating for bbuk is exceptional for Channel 5.

So thus far it’s lost 223k from launch.

I think normal BB just feels like a relic of the noughties to most people now and the news it was being cancelled just reinforced that. CBB will always have a bit more appeal cos celebrity culture has endured quite strongly and there'll always be that curiosity about what a celeb is 'actually like'

Wow. I’m not going to go overboard here because obviously it’s still ****e but I honestly thought the circle would obliterate BB

The only good news is that The Circle lost. What a flop after all that promo push!

Anyone think that BB's officials will add quite a lot? Especially if the new BARB system FINALLY comes in (which they said September, so surely next Monday!).

Wouldn't be surprised if we see 500k increases to around 1.2m (same as BB18).

I heard it was 680k last night, hopefully without +1 so it can at least be in the 700s.....

I knew The Circle would end up flopping, people have no taste. All that other ****e on C4 that people lap up smh

Hope they don't change anything and just let it run its course in the hope that word of mouth spreads, unlike when C5 hit the panic button

I think Circle will stabilise at 400k-500k and not fall further.

And BB looks stuck between 670k-700k for three days in a row. So that is what we will probably see everyday.

The one thing BB has going in its favour is that the people that are watching love it so it shouldn’t fall much further. At least it hasn’t got a Saturday rating to worry about now. Can you imagine what Saturdays would be now? :laugh:

Mind you, I can’t see the 90 minute Sunday shows doing that well either

C4 should just take BB back cod the circle has flopped. BIG TIME!

Axe The Circle and pay £40 million to revive a show that only gets an extra 300k viewers?

lol BB wouldn’t only get 700k viewers if revived on C4!

Firstly, they wouldn’t have two CBB’s so it’d be £30m or less. Secondly, it’s a bigger channel so would automatically have bigger advertising reach to get higher ratings. Thirdly, the whole revive and back on its original channel would garner a lot of extra interest :)

Completely undeserved The Circle has been far better than BBUK and is just superior in everyway

Hopefully it'll be similar to Love Island where it 'flopped' on ratings at first, but due to the qualify of the show it actually rises whilst BB falls and ends up beating it.

It very well might get some extra interest but I think you're exaggerating the extent that this extra interest would be, unless you're basing your post on an assumption that Channel 4 would have let the show rest for five years before reviving it?

I lowkey wanted it to do well, because C4 and all of that. But I guess it was destined to flop. Losing 60% of the viewers is an utter tragedy.
At least it's not the US here - they would've cancelled the series by now lol.
Worst case scenario, it'll join "Shattered" in the one-off C4 RTV club, so it's in good company.
