Its another thing that basically tends to cause a huge blowout argument, then everything seems quite calm for a bit afterwards. Like when we let one of those argument threads just run and run. Its good for the forum I think, to get it all out every now and again..fairly sure James disagrees though..

It would just lead to a record number of bans & infractions. And probably awkwardness.

I think really that it just gives everybody a chance to say everything, so potentially after there's more ~tension because then people have to go back to being 'civilised' but then it could go the opposite way as well. :suspect:

I dunno, but it was really entertaining last time :hehe: And tbf the forum would probably come ALIVE then, I'd say it doesn't matter much anyway now BB is over.

Might be misremembering this but..I think we did away with infractions for that thread? Or would certainly have not treat it the same as other threads.

Like the big blowout argument threads we allow, generally we just don't mod them unless something seriously bad is said, else half the forum would be banned and..whats the point in allowing people to blow off steam then infracting them for it really..

Admin never seem to impressed when we have purposely let an argument run though in the hope people get it all out of their system. And sometimes, it doesnt work and just gets dragged to other threads. Sometimes..it does make a bit of calm for a bit though.

A roast thread would be a better thing. The roast participant would have to volunteer themselves and give people permission to do that obviously.

People can opt out (obviously) of controversy too though, it's the same difference

I always found after a huge argument the forum would calm down for a while

Calderyon 30-05-2019 12:01 PM

Culture differences, maybe.

Hmm maybe, most hated was just like a giant roast anyway though. Singular at a time might work much better while we have less active users..not sure admin would go for it though :p

Usually this happens. A few times it has not. Still think its massively beneficial from time to time.

This is why the other hosts let people opt out before opening round 1.

Ammi 30-05-2019 01:47 PM

Ammi 30-05-2019 01:47 PM

...they’ll be worth the wait, I know...
