If Moscow Mitch shuts down impeachment with all this evidence against Trump, it'll just show that the game is rigged and that the Right Wing are ultimately morally corrupt if they continue to support Trump.

If the Republicans are smart, they'd consider throwing Trump under the bus to ensure they keep hold of the Senate. Defending a blatantly corrupt President that has called to other countries multiple times to investigate his rivals will ultimately cost them more than losing the White House for a term or two would.

There has been lots of what could be described as alarmist talk previously, but I think American democracy is already lost. This isn't a fight for democracy that's going on now, the fight has already been lost. Trump is a dictator, and he is now just flexing muscle and control he already has
