Is Kiwami 2 good?

The amount of time some of the boss fights in these games have made me rage quit :skull: I'm enjoying 2 it's pretty much what you'd expect from a continuation of Kiwami. I'd say the only difference you'll probably notice if you jump straight in from 1 is the game uses a newer engine so the combat kinda feels off at first but you soon get use to. Did you play 0 before Kiwami?

Considerably further in now and it's just... a bit disappointing  entire maps that look the same, no diversity in the types of enemies you go against... literally all it has going for it, at this point, is the humour in the writing and the voice acting. The actual gameplay is just... so easy and repetitive :(

It runs on Unreal Engine 4... so yes, that was inevitable tbh.

Oh god I nearly rage quit after Chapter 7's two horrible bosses as they were really hard to kill imo.:joker: So I totally understand where you're coming from with the bosses.

I've only got Kiwami 1 at the moment, I am definitely planning on going on buying Kiwami 2 & 0 as the next games to get for myself though.

Hopefully I'll be decent at the new gameplay mechanics in Kiwami 2.

I'm still on Death Stranding, still loving it. I've literally not looked at ANYTHING online for it, ever, and feel like it was definitely the way to go because it throws up surprises (both storyline and gameplay) constantly.

Spoiler:

e.g. I swear there was next-to-zero heavy combat for the first 15+ hours and I assumed there just was none, and then all of a sudden, "here.. you're going to need this assault rifle" :joker:

It's a time-sink though... I spent 5 hours one day setting up an elaborate network of ziplines between 7 different locations :umm2:. Complete coverage of the area. Now when it asks me to take a "timed" delivery and gives me an hour, I show up at the delivery location 2 or 3 minutes later and they actually comment on it like "Err... how did you get here so quickly??"

However... my "trusty" PS4 Pro appears to by DYING :bawling:... the other day I couldn't get it to come on at all until I did a hard reset ("white light of death" on startup) and now every 30-60 mins the screen will cut to black for 3-or-so seconds. Sound sometimes cuts out too, sometimes not.

I really hope it makes it through the year, it's in for some heavy use for FFVII and TLOU2... and I don't fancy replacing it when the PS5 is just around the corner ffs!

How much does it cost to try and get the PS4 Pro repaired? I know that it's expensive, but is it out of the question for you TS?

I usually just get parts off eBay and fix things myself (cracked screens, broken gamepads etc.) but...

Most likely problem is the HDMI controller chip which isn't the cheapest, probably at least £50 for the part and I can't fit it myself because it involves soldering which is something I've yet to ever try :joker:. So I reckon probably £70 or so for someone to repair it. Cheaper than a new console and if this was a year ago I'd be happy enough to spend it but it feels like such a waste when PS5 is just round the corner.

Anyway, touch wood, I moved the console so that the cable has more support and thus far it's been working OK (though I had to fiddle with the cable a lot to get it to come on at all the first time after moving it D: )... so maybe if I never evenslightly nudge it... it'll be alright. Also think the back was overheating where it was before which is probably what's done the damage. Meh.

I'm playing a story driven citybuilder/survival game on PC called Frostpunk. It's grim AF but really good :joker:

Spyro 3

I finished Death Stranding today and it was incredible :worry:. Just beautiful. The game is slow to start but the second half is perfect and the final few "chapters" (when it gets much more story heavy) are just a rollercoaster. Also,

Spoiler:

You fight a ****ing FLYING WHALE at one point and the sense of scale is just unreal

It's right up there as the best of PS4 for me now. It doesn't QUITE beat Nier Automata for me, but it's a close 2nd.

Still playing GTA 5 and i really don’t understand the hype :skull:

I’d give it 7/10 at best

I mean... it's a 6.5 year old game at this point. It probably is a 7/10 game today, but it was easily 9/10 on release. Like I loved RDR on release but it borders on unplayable after playing RDR2.

I started playing catherine on hard :3

I'd say that it's a very good game, give it a couple of levels to warm up though imo.

RDR lets itself down with those horrible herding missions imo.

Yakuza Kiwami 2 - I've only played the first 6 chapters so far and I'm loving it. I'm in particular loving some of the weird & wonderful substories on offer.
