i'm not going to take advice from someone who find racism and homophobia entertaining

Also, a few hours ago Jason was talking to Cody and admitted he wasn't one of the votes to keep him but that Christmas tried to frame him... so right afterwards Cody went up to Jessica in the HOH and seems to be pissed off at Jason for that. :joker: He mentioned that Kevin told him he voted to keep him though so they basically know the 2 votes were Kevin & Christmas.

it's just one of those seasons where everyone is pretty much annoying me or meh so i just look at Kevin and think he's lovely i will root for him. This would never have happened on other seasons especially since I have Zach as a profile favourite who is problematic but didn't really annoy me at all.

and :skull:

Hopefully Ramses can win POV this week. I wouldn't be opposed to Alex being the replacement nom and leaving

That would be funny to see Cody beg Jess not to put Alex up and then the Cody fumes when Alex goes. :joker:

I think if someone acknowledges that it's seen as highly offensive (as Cody apparently did from that tweet) and say it regardless (and brags he'll happily say it over and over), that's not ignorant because he's clearly not ignorant of the offence caused, he just doesn't care. I think a lot of people do use the word in ignorance of what it actually means but he's obviously not one (just like he knew full well what he was saying when he was ranting about transgender people, which lmao if you think that didn't reflect his morals whatsoever). Support him all you like but at least don't pretend he's anything other than a dickhead.

And "it's just a word" is a terrible excuse used way too often for bigotry and seems to be mainly used by people who aren't even part of the section of society being insulted by the word in the first place.

Yeah you can't really complain about Janelle fans ignoring her "comments" and then ignore Cody's comments in the process

You can if you ignored Janelles comments too.

So I take on board that due to the nature of having live feeds and there being three episodes a week, we definitely have more material to criticize and find flaws in people, but BBUS is still without a doubt the reality show that has the worst human beings year in and year out. Like, we've had one huge racism scandal and multiple casual racist remarks each year, multiple HGs who have threatened or even bragged about rape, a dude who held a knife to a girl's throat, an outward homophobe who gets rewarded with the job to conduct pre-show and post-show interviews for CBS, at least two HGs who have been involved in the deaths of others, multiple HGs who have been involved in or even bragged about animal cruelty, and a bunch of HGs who are shady grifters and are under a lot of scrutiny for manipulating fans to send them money, including a current HG who has claimed to have had two years to live for the past eight years and is exaggerating/lying about the state of her "terminal diseases." The casts had some authenticity to them back in the Shapiro era but ever since Grodner took over it's devolved into vapid Los Angeles gutter trash, douche bags fresh out of college fraternities, and overbearing and obnoxious try-hards. Even the fans of this show are ****ing trash, spamming social media with death threats, digging up old posts out of context to tarnish someone's reputation, and actively plotting to expose HGs and ruin their lives. For a show I regretfully get sucked into year in and year out, there's an absurd amount of shady bull**** that really makes it hard to enjoy.

That's all well and good but Cody is still an open transphobe :spin:

My issue is Paul uses a word that has racist meaning behind it but used it with no racist intent and gets bashed for it to the point of news articles on it but Cody who's said multiple poor taste comments is swept under the rug even though his intent was clear and he has had no remorse for it at all. He embraces it actually.

The moral compass is completely skewed in the fan favorites' benefit so it really makes no sense anyway.

I just judge the people on character traits throughout the season rather than comments they may throw out here and there, and that includes offensive ones... and maybe I am just desensitized to them idk. But even if it may be funny from time to time, Cody's attitude consistently sucks and that's why he sucks to me.

Tbf you don't know there was no racist intent, no one but him can know that but tbh when you are getting excited at the prospect of using blackface it looks pretty racist to me.

And I agree about Cody, I mean I'm rooting for him but I'm not hardcore stanning him or anything because he is a trash transphobic human being. If he wasn't opposition for Paul he'd be at the bottom of my rankings

LukeB 22-07-2017 07:48 PM

I promise i'm not trying to start something here Macie but i have one innocent question that hopefully you don't answer back with sarcasm etc

I've always wondered if you are embarrassed and regret watching why do you pay for feeds? like you're basically giving them money.. i'm curious. and again it's just a simple question

Macie Lightfoot 22-07-2017 07:57 PM

No that's actually a super fair question that I've asked myself on multiple occasions. Unfortunately it's hard for me to completely give up on this show when we occasionally stumble backwards into good seasons on accident (17, OTT, and **** I'll even throw in 15 bc there were quite a few moments that made the feeds worthwhile), and All Access is only $6 a month so it's cheap enough where I don't feel like I'm ultimately wasting that much money.

You can't say one person's intent is clear but the other isn't because you don't know that since you aren't them. And no one is sweeping Cody's statements in the rug they come up all the time. The people who don't like Paul are naturally going to root for the people who are against him. For the people who want Paul out Cody and Jessica are our only real hope. You can root for people even if they say stupid ****. I don't know if you watch sports at all but if you root for a team your whole you will at some point root for someone who has been problematic. Like I am a die hard Cubs fan and we traded for Aroldis Chapman who had been accused of domestic violence in the past. Yes he's a douche bag who I am glad isn't on our team anymore but I still cheered for him when he was on the mound anyways. Watching baseball makes me happy and I am not gonna let some dumbass ruin that for me. Same goes for BB. I like watching it it gives me something to do in the summer time. And for me at least Paul is making my favorite show less entertaining because he has an advantage over all the hgs and most of them just follow him like a sheep. That's not fun to watch so I am going to root for people who are anti Paul even if they make a stupid trans comment.

DouglasS 22-07-2017 08:01 PM

I don't give a **** that Cody is my fave, I think hes a hilarious person and I like that he doesn't give a **** about the camera's being there and that hes completely unaware of production. He seems a good person to me also.

I mean it's definitely not impossible that he had racist intent with it when he said it... but he mentioned "his face mask" when he said it and he's had a green-ish face mask on feeds before. Then in the actual veto ceremony he just used a few patterns with that same green-ish face paint. The fact he had the snake patterned clothing makes his intent being to represent a snake pretty likely/realistic. And Paul is always excited to put on a show.

Cody literally said he doesn't give a **** that's why I think his intent was clear. :joker: Paul's entire thing was being snake-like and it was the whole theme of the week and that's why I think his intent was clear as well. I don't know either of their intent FOR SURE of course but I think it's pretty reasonable to think that way over the opposite opinions on each person/situation.

Also I've said this before, I don't care if people like Cody at all. I can even see where the like comes from as it is pretty amusing sometimes and obviously as opposition to Paul who people can't stand (for some reason that I don't personally know :fist:).
