[The recently elected leader of Warwickshire
County Council has resigned,
leaving his 18-year-old deputy in charge.

Reform UK councillor Rob Howard
released a short statement in which
he said he had made the decision
with "much regret".

Howard was elected in May,
when Reform made unprecedented gains
in the local elections,
becoming the largest party
in Warwickshire and forming
a minority administration.]

Tory MPs defecting to Reform aren’t making some noble stand, they’re scavengers crawling from one rancid carcass to another. After years of wrecking lives and lining their pockets, they’re desperate to slap a new label on their filth. It’s not conviction. It’s the final pathetic gasp of relevance from people who’d sell this country out twice over if it kept them in the spotlight.

I definitely think Reform are going to develop similar issues as the Tories, if they keep taking their current cra-I mean crop into their party.

True, but Starmer makes himself look pathetic with his constant snipes at Farage.

I suppose BoJo means that they should be saying "vote for us because" rather then "don't vote for them, they're icky!"

my prediction is that Boris will stand in a byelection in a safe tory seat and become leader again, then all bets are off. It's pretty obvious at this point that is the plan

From the DT online

[A Reform MP has left the party amid allegations
surrounding his “business propriety during the pandemic”.
James McMurdock, the MP for South Basildon
and East Thurrock, will sit as an independent
in the Commons while the claims are investigated.

Lee Anderson, Reform’s chief whip, said:
“I have today received a call from James McMurdock
who has advised me, as chief whip,
that he has removed the party whip from
himself pending the outcome of an investigation
into allegations that are likely to be published
by a national newspaper.

“The allegations relate to business propriety during
the pandemic and before he became an MP.

“At Reform UK we take these matters very
seriously and James has agreed to cooperate
in full with any investigation.

“We will not be commenting further
at this moment.”
