There is precedent for using frozen assets to fund war-related efforts. They're not supposed to be used offensively (for weapons or equipment) but they can be used for humanitarian reasons or to rebuild damaged infrastructure (e.g. if Russia blows up a bridge in Ukraine, Ukraine can legitimately use frozen Russian assets to rebuild that bridge).

Also...

If I'm reading it right, much of the current proposal is to use the profits/interest on the frozen assets rather than eating into the initial asset, which is a huge amount of money. Assuming at least 9% returns, the return on £300bn of assets is nearly £30 billion / year... which they can take and spend whilst still having the full £300bn of frozen assets to return post-war.

Depending on just what is finally revealed as the new policy on the disability benefits structure.
Not the media presentation of what they THINK, however what is actually put in place by the government.
However IF Labour DO now act with little to no compassion towards the sick and disabled and following on from, make the criteria to get assistance harder, after Ian Duncan Smith's heartless policy of testing the sick and disabled.
If that's the line Liz Kendall, who I don't care for, is now going down with support of the PM and this absolutely atrocious hard-line Chancellor.
Then I'll be furious but hope backbench Labour MPs really act against this.

Honestly, they'd be coming across more heartless than the Cons and nearly as bad as the even harder Reform lot.
So called support by financially emotional blackmailing the sick and disabled is NOT support.
