They are the last characters to be introduced that actually became huge and drew big audiences with their storylines (granted within their first 4 years).

That was 10 years ago now, who has the show introduced since then that could be considered a good replacement?

It was one thing axing characters in the past as there was always the next "generation" of new characters picking up the mantle. But EE has had a huge problem creating new ones the last few years. The Carter's at a push, but their initial potential was squandered with some piss poor storytelling and quitting actors.

I agree completely. Ronnie and Roxy will be the last characters that have come along, transformed the show and had loads of people be interested in following them and creating iconic moments.

The only characters that have been of any worth to have been introduced over the last few years have been Mick, Linda, Kush and Donna in my opinion.

They desperately need new characters who will inject some life back into the show and drive it into another new era with big new story lines and moments, but I fear SOC will end up filling it with filler characters who are interested in community projects and gardening for instance.

The Masood's (also introduced in 2007) are now extinct, Denise and Shirley are 2006 characters. Ian, Michelle, Sharon etc are originals.
The show has a serious lack of new blood. Killing R&R has only added to the problem.

Yeah, look at me repeating the same statements over and over and not contributing to discussion.

And if the new Michelle is anything to go by all of SOC's new characters will have caught the wrong bus to Last Tango in Halifax/Ordinary Lies/Call the Midwife/Broadchurch/Holby City.

Djdjdhdjdjdjdjdddjdjdjdjdssjsdjdjd but babes we would be perched for la psycho from the last series of Broadchurch?

Also "If you're going to have those kind of secrets it's best to keep them secret".

There's not much Sharon can take the moral high ground off nowadays so this is going to annoy me.

Sharon spent the best part of 2015 covering up Lucy's murder and helping send an innocent man to prison for life so unless Michelle is working for ISIS. :nono:

'Chelle a killer?

Cal. 08-01-2017 07:15 PM

Carmel is SO annoying sorry.

Ross. 08-01-2017 07:16 PM

Yes Carmel is pretty terrible now

Ross. 08-01-2017 07:17 PM

She has her moments though

Daniel-X 08-01-2017 07:17 PM

Can we all STOP with the Carmel hate, nasty little so-and-so's.

Marsh. 08-01-2017 07:17 PM

She's never had a plot line yet so Carmel doesn't count.

Selfish bitch Shabnam quitting left ha and Kush in t'lurch and forced Masood and Tamwar out the exit door.

Cal. 08-01-2017 07:18 PM

Yeah new Shabnam could have been an all time great if she'd stayed.

Speaking from a mod's perspective, it's less to do with your opinion and more with how you presented it or generally how you spoke to people.

Chances are you were overly rude or insulting in your support of Jale and that's what got you banned.

Shabnam 2.0 was FANTASTIC

How do you know that those other people weren't also punished?

It's often something I hear as a mod yet it's silly because nobody is aware of anyone else's infraction history.

Marsh. 08-01-2017 07:23 PM

Unless it's EE related, take your conversation elsewhere girls. :nono:
