bots 13-05-2022 07:36 AM

there is massive wastage across the civil service and the jobs will likely disappear naturally over time rather than being compulsory. There are for example, still 70 civil servants working on the COP conference last year, that is just pure waste

Kizzy 13-05-2022 07:41 AM

Are they Brexit related roles if they were created after 2016?

See how much we could have saved remaining..

MTVN 13-05-2022 09:35 AM

Brexit and Covid mainly I think

I'm a bit bitter because I only joined the civil service three months ago and one of the main attractions was job security :joker:

oh no :omgno:

I think job security anywhere is a thing in the past, restructuring is now common practice everywhere

I've worked with Local Government for years - during numerous restructures and they will offer you re-deployment I'm sure. The ones who go will usually those who take VER and VR with long service as the pay off is usually pretty good. They rarely make mandatory redundancies - they will get rid of tons of agency staff and then re-deploy many whose roles are gone but who want to stay on. Hopefully you will be fine :fc:

there will be thousands that will take early retirement so i wouldn't worry

MTVN 13-05-2022 10:27 AM

Thanks, think you guys are probably right and it sounds like most the losses will be 'natural departures'. In a way maybe I'm lucky to have joined when I did as they'll be putting recruitment freezes in place now
