Refusing to date the male equivalent of a Bond girl because he's too dark-skinned for her

Actually Series 11: Episode 1 will see The Doctor at the salon experimenting with ginger highlights.

BBUK-Fan 16-07-2017 05:45 PM

They're gonna bring back the sonic lipstick. Ffs

Marsh. 16-07-2017 05:47 PM

I can't wait for the next revelation. She might be female in appearance but she still has a dick?

Just to keep the idiots happy.

Why do you have an issue with it?

The argument consists of James Bond being male.

No, I don't think that's at all relevant either.

MB. 16-07-2017 05:48 PM

BBUK-Fan has a grand total of three women in his BB favourites list and one of them is Kerry Katona, why are we surprised

Mess.

As far as i'm aware The Doctor is said to be an alien which gives us nothing about the gender and we have women doctors anyway.. i don't get the fumes. It's not like it doesn't make sense.

This wouldn't be correct in terms of the story as the sonic lipstick was given to Sarah-Jane as a gift by The Doctor, so this is incorrect.

Fantastic casting news, she was fantastic in Broadchurch so I expect nothing less than amazing from her in Doctor Who.

You leave Kerry Jayne Elizabeth Katona OUT of this.

Cal. 16-07-2017 06:10 PM

They should have brought Donna back and killed the doctor off yes?

Cal. 16-07-2017 06:13 PM

Does anyone remember the episode they brought loads of companions back to fight the Daleks?

Ultimate BB who, I hear you ask?

Jason. 16-07-2017 06:14 PM

I don't care about Doctor Who, I'm just here for the drama

Miss Harriet Jones was the true trailblazer :clap1:

Morgan. 16-07-2017 06:15 PM

I was half expecting a surprise and for the Doctor to regenerate into the body of one of his past companions (Bill, Clara etc) for some odd reason but I'm extatic at this choice.

Sticks 16-07-2017 06:16 PM

One of my female acquaintances has told me she is never watching it ever again as Moffat has destroyed it. The Doctor should be a man according to her.

So it is not just guys opposed to this.

Crimson Dynamo 16-07-2017 06:30 PM

its been fcking awful for years

terrible complicated insufferable storylines

wankish namby-pamby writers who are so up their own arses it bleeds over every script

this panderation is the final straw

cancel this utter **** now

Why does it matter who my BB favourites are. Just because I have my opinion so keep out. :nono:

MB. 16-07-2017 06:30 PM

I hope they make this Doctor extra religious, too

Tom4784 16-07-2017 06:31 PM

I'm obviously here for this.

The meltdowns are ridiculous, It's been established ever since Missy was introduced that Timelords can switch gender when they regenerate and nothing about the Doctor's character is dependent on him being male. To be upset when EVERY Doctor is essentially a reboot to the series is silly. The Doctor doesn't have to be a certain age, race or gender.

Sticks 16-07-2017 06:38 PM

Even before Missy, it was established that Time Lords could switch gender, in the Matt Smith episode when an entity took over the TARDIS

The problem here, is that this upsets a standard dynamic.

As I observed before, one of the most angry reactions against this move has come from a woman I know.

Crimson Dynamo 16-07-2017 06:45 PM

im laughing at fans choking on their horlicks trying to justify the end of the whole idea in a pc wankfest of doom

one series and the its cancelled for good

:laugh2:

MB. 16-07-2017 06:54 PM

Yeah, imagine justifying a woman, ghastly things

Tell ha Moffat is leaving.

Glenn. 16-07-2017 07:28 PM

I can't wait. I'm thrilled that it's Jodie. She was incredible in Broadchurch.

Tregard 16-07-2017 07:29 PM

The really *iffy* sticking point of all the criticism is that every single point about The Doctor's gender can be applied to The Doctor's race, too.

"But the Doctor has always been male/white, it just seems like pandering to the PC brigade to change the Doctor from being male/white."

Once you start splitting hairs on the anatomical fixtures of a shape-shifting alien, you can really put yourself into some deep holes.

This isn't to say the Doctor needs to be all things, female/POC/gay/disabled etc., but these shouldn't be reasons for someone NOT to be The Doctor.

What I think is really interested is where they go for 14. Would it be stranger to go back to male, or to remain female?

Wizard. 16-07-2017 07:31 PM

Why are geeks literally fuming over a female Doctor when they probably wank off to Clara and Princess Laia (God rest her soul)

Yeah I thought the first mention was Missy when she first came into it, but then I was rewatching the Smith era and noticed that one. He's talking about another "legendary" timelord and says something like; "him... Or her, a couple of times..." establishing ages before Missy that gender switching is a thing.

I'm also a bit 50/50 on whether a female doctor will actually work, worried it might feel a bit forced, but I'll give it the benefit of the doubt

Underscore 16-07-2017 07:51 PM

Yesss really optimistic about this new doctor.

Time to get Peter Capaldi/Matt Smith/David Tennant in the house tho

armand.kay 16-07-2017 07:51 PM

I'm sceptical a female doctor would work, I can't see her lasting long but who knows I might be wrong...

Also bye at a female doctor before a black one when the girls and boys have been asking for one for decades.

armand.kay 16-07-2017 07:53 PM

As much as I'm not over the moon at a female doctor THANK GOD she arrived after Moffat left, his 'powerful female' characters were getting tedious.

Jamesy 16-07-2017 07:53 PM

I think this is a bit of a risk given the show needs a boost in viewers right now, not something that will split the audience further. I hope It works out though.

With this, I hope we see a change with companions. Either a man and woman duo, or an alien companion. We've had Earth girls for 12 years, since the show is taking a bold move with the Doctor it's time to do the same with companions.
