Aged 22
and he can not hold it together................ [Britain's Jack Draper vomited on court during a dramatic US Open semi-final defeat by world number one Jannik Sinner. The 22-year-old British number one's breakout run at a Grand Slam tournament ended in a 7-5 7-6 (7-3) 6-2 defeat in New York. In the biggest match of his fledgling career, 25th seed Draper caused problems for Sinner in a tight first set.] https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/tennis/a...s/c049kw6dln5o |

can't believe Queen Jessica is a US Open finalist, now hopefully the evil also can be beaten, this is a slower court than Cinci was where Sabalenka beat her while Jessie still managed to put up a good fight even if the court wasn't in her favor back then
but really that QF win over Iga, sensational and that semi win over Muchova, great recovery from set1 loss with a breadstick (1-6) and also 0-2 behind in set2, showcasing what a fighter she can be :flutter: at this level, compared to her early years very under the radar with the fandom, also after overcoming a very bad knee injury in 2014 which made her fall below top 700 even good luck for the final, my queen |
well fought Jessie
already proud of you for having made the final of the USO this year :flutter: i guess the tennis gods were more in favor of Sabalenka just bad luck also losing 7-5, 7-5 ain't bad at all |
Official Tennis Thread - Part 3
Sooooo just watching a tennis program on telly..
Can’t help but not so many of the top players including the massive , framed world number one are quite manly looking !! So are they naturally born with high testosterone or are they maybe taking additives ? Powerful shoulders with square jaws .. a few look like real handsome guys .. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...185e709d30.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...f69f9fe06e.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...c8c47f7af5.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...1ad906dd25.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |
Sooooo Djokovic has pulled out of the Italian Open completely after suffering an unpleasant THREE successive DEFEATS !!!
Maybe he’s reintroduced GLUTEN back into his system v!! [emoji23] |
Sooooo
The big story is the young lady from France rated 366 in the world yet seemingly finding no difficulties in smashing all her opponents incredibly TWO top 10 seeds !! This was her first grand slam event and she’s just off an horrendous injury (usually career ending ) .. Thing that bothers me is her physique… or more specifically the remarkable change in her physique and the way she’s simply overpowering all her opponents In the space of about 8 months look at the difference ! https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...41abbd6685.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...c33eea01eb.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...75841aec64.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Any thoughts on the world number one Sinner ??
He came from nowhere to be almost unbeatable on ANY surface !! ( Djokovic did a similar thing oddly) I don’t like or trust either one of them !! Sinner famously tested positive ( twice I think) but incredibly only got a 3 month ban which he served in the close season. The other tennis players were aghast !! [Emma Raducanu's Wimbledon dream is over.
Aryna Sabalenka, the world number one, is through to round four but she won't have many tougher tests than that during this tournament.] |
At 27 years old
Aryna Sabalenka, the Belarusian professional tennis player. You could see she would win, A higher level than 22 year old Emma |
Raducanu played really well tbf.
Hopefully she can build on this and make some improvements to her game. |
Raducanu was fantastic. Been a joy to see her playing her best tennis but fair play to Sabalenka who massively stepped up when she needed to
Glad we still have Sonay in the next round, she's been amazing (and the posts above are pretty disgusting) |

And I do personally agree with you on Sonay as well, I get that we all to some extent get drawn to people that we think are good looking, but I don't get why some people are wanting to drag her down over something that she can't control? Plus she's doing really well at a Sporting event, not a Modelling one. Because let's be honest, Raducanu would be winning that tournament by a mile imo. Obviously I don't know who anyone would vote for out of the men. But going back to what you were saying MTVN, I agree with all of your points. |
Raducanu this Raducanu that, only because she's beautiful.hardly a mention for our pocket dynamite who played a flawless game in destroying her more experienced opponent.
|
one to look out for, the argentine qualifier Solana Sierra, quite a stunning result in 3 sets past Bucsa, losing the 2nd set with a breadstick, and then handing a breadstick back at Bucsa to take the match
now from this Bottom Half Swiatek vs Collins today will be interesting, if Iga can have her revenge at Collins, for that loss in Rome earlier this year, or if Collins is now on the better surface while its Iga's weakest surface and therefore Collins having the upper hand anyhow the winner of this, might face either Tauson or Rybakina, and both of whom are dangerous next opponents also looking forward to Cocciaretto, i mean a upset in round 1 over the 3rd seed Pegula, and a convincing flawless round 2 win, and now against a inconsistently performing Bencic Zeynep Sonmez am also happy her still being in, tennis ain't popular at all in Turkiye, also financially wise, however she now has a tricky opponent in the seeded Alexandrova Yastremska can she continue her wimbledon journey, the one who outed 2nd seed Coco Gauff in round 1, now up against the spanish Jessica Bouzas (whom recently kinda blew Emma Navarro away with that 6-1, 6-0, few tournaments ago) |
i don't care too much about Pegula's round 1 exit here, i mean her best surface is Hard Court anyway
i hope she can perform better in the american leg of the season, but anyway holding on to a top 5 ranking would be something i am hoping for, for our QUEEN Pegula's strength is more her never give up attitude, her style of play is a bit on the basic side i do admit that, so i don't know if she'll ever win a slam, but honestly more than 10 years ago i wouldn't have even thought about her becoming a top ranked player, and look where she is now so also Pegula apparently offers other players on tour, also rides on her private jet  |
Quote:
That's really impressive imo, and I am someone that has been disappointed with some of Raducanu's attitude in other tournaments. But yes, some of the Media love to promote Raducanu because she's a very pretty woman, but there will be sections of the Media that will be less keen because she's a pretty woman. It depends on where you're looking basically. |
Swiatek wins wimbledon, obviously

I personally would like to see Sabalenka win though, I like her passion on the court. |

She gets an awful lot of stick for her loud grunting on court plus her lip fillers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
