That would be nice but I fear if anything it will go the other way and be a worse wipeout than feared. It's going to be Portillo moment after Portillo moment. Rishi himself genuinely may lose his seat

Ironically this could all happen with Labour getting fewer votes than they did in 2017

I have a feeling that it'll be a hung parliament.

the pollsters have got next to no idea how its going to turn out. There are a huge number of undecided voters who would probably vote tory normally and they may revert to tory or just not bother voting which is why it could go to a hung parliament. It's also possible that the tories could be down to between 50 and 200 seats which is a pretty meaningless prediction, i've never seen anything like it before

Letter to the DT

SIR – That the Conservatives thought it wise to involve Boris Johnson, who is
tainted by Partygate, in their election campaign at the last minute is as
counterintuitive as Nicola Sturgeon, who is still under police investigation,
campaigning for the SNP on the streets of Govanhill.

Utterly bizarre.

it is bizarre, i'm surprised they didn't bring out Liz Truss for an encore

Roll out Cameron, May, Boris, Liz Truss and little Rishi all arm in arm doing the can-can.

It's very suspicious that polling stations provide pencils, rather than pens.

Take your own pen..

bots 04-07-2024 10:51 AM

Pencils are generally used to mark ballot papers for practical reasons: ink may dry or spill, or could smudge and transfer when the ballot paper is folded, which could lead to your ballot paper being rejected.

But this is not mandatory - you can use your own pen if you prefer.

I wonder if it's a grand conspiracy... with the grannies volunteering at the polling and counting stations sitting with a wee rubber, furiously changing votes from Reform to Labour, and then taking the secret with them to the grave? It was going to be a Farage landslide :worry:.

BUT DON'T WORRY

Farage will maintain control of the military (who will secretly still be in control).

Right @Alf ?
