The bit when Neville goes '' Yeah! you and whos army!?'' cringe

Ninastar 05-12-2011 07:34 PM

I found Neville and the twins cringey through out the whole film tbh

Glenn. 05-12-2011 07:35 PM

Snapes memories were perfect

I thought the graphics were outstanding. The whole film is outstanding.

King Gizzard 05-12-2011 07:35 PM

I thought he was meant to be more mature anyway, they should of kept the fat mask IMO

Nevilles story is one if my highlights from the book. He goes from a wimp to a warrior and it's something that didn't come across that well on film.

King Gizzard 05-12-2011 07:47 PM

Deffinitely, he seemed a bit of a clueless wimp with a sword still

King Gizzard 05-12-2011 07:49 PM

Snape though

Glenn. 05-12-2011 07:50 PM

Especially his 'its not over!' line. I've never cringed so much in my life.

Glenn. 05-12-2011 07:52 PM

I used to hate Alan Rickman as Snape but his performance in DH2 is Oscar worthy.

And the character of Snape

King Gizzard 05-12-2011 07:53 PM

So much i've forgotten from the books, havn't read them in years, forgot why harry doesn't die in the forest after dumbledore says he must die..

Callum 05-12-2011 08:02 PM

Snape is the best character in the whole series for me behind Dumbledore and Alan Rickman played him perfectly. He deserves an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor. He probably won't get it though because the Oscars are very anti Potter.

Glenn. 05-12-2011 08:04 PM

He doesn't die because, (spoilered in case the people that live under a rock dont know)
Spoiler:

because Voldemort only kills the part of his soul that lives in Harry. Harry's soul remains untouched and undamaged

Universal Orlando: Phase II of the Wizarding World would include a new section of the park to take over where the Jaws and Amity portion recently closed down. The rumored plans include a reproduction of London, which would house Diagon Alley - a 'true' location for Ollivander's Wand Shop, Gringotts Bank with an amazing new roller coaster cart ride, and the Leaky Cauldron.

Additionally, they would add Platform 9 and 3/4 where patrons would pass through the muggle side and be whisked away to Hogsmeade Station via an actual train ride on the Hogwarts Express.
I so hope this rumour is true, a bigger WWoHP would be amazing. I always had a feeling they would make a Gringotts ride after watching DH Part 2.

Marsh. 06-12-2011 06:21 PM

I could have done without the focus on Neville on the back cover and his speech towards the end. He ruined what was a brilliantly acted scene from Ralph Fiennes with over sentimental drivel about Harry still being "in here". Hate it, hate it, hate it.

Prince's Tale section though, brilliant Alan Rickman showreel really, making up for little screen time in the latter half of the movies.

And rewatching the ending, I thought Ginny looked ridiculous; she looked like she was wearing her mother's clothes; Hermione looked more convincing when it showed them applying the age makeup backstage; on screen she looked barely any different.
Draco reminded me of Jack from Lost with the silly fake beard.
Ron and Harry looked convincingly older and Daniel Radcliffe gave his most convincing performance in those final moments than he had the entire previous 8 films. lol

Its confirmed!!!

Warner Bros. Entertainment and Universal Parks and Resorts today announced a partnership to bring The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – the enormously popular themed entertainment environment which debuted in Orlando in June 2010 – to Universal Studios Hollywood.

The two companies also announced their plans to significantly expand The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando Resort.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Hollywood will be as impressive as what has been created in Orlando – and is expected to transform tourism in Los Angeles for decades to come. It will be a fully immersive environment for the entire family that brings the stories of Harry Potter to life and is faithful to the visual landscape of the films, including a majestic Hogwarts castle to serve as the centerpiece of the themed environment. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Hollywood will be created with the same commitment to authenticity and the same level of talent and resources as its Orlando counterpart.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando Resort opened in June 2010 and immediately captured global attention. It is a spectacularly themed land that includes Hogwarts castle, Hogsmeade and multiple themed attractions. Specific details of its expansion will be announced over time.

"The announcement of our partnership with Universal to bring The Wizarding World of Harry Potter to Hollywood and expand what already exists in Orlando is probably the best holiday gift we could give to the legions of Harry Potter fans worldwide," said Barry Meyer, Chairman & CEO, Warner Bros. "Everyone involved with these projects is committed to continuing the enchantment of J.K. Rowling’s masterful books as they were brought to life on screen in our eight films and dedicated to extending the magic of the experience for generations of fans to come."

"This is an incredible moment for Universal Studios and the millions of guests who visit our theme parks," said Ron Meyer, President & COO, Universal Studios. "The Harry Potter stories are some of the most powerful of our time and we are honored to expand our Orlando experience and bring The Wizarding World of Harry Potter to Hollywood, forever changing family tourism in Los Angeles."

"The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is an entirely new level of themed entertainment that brings the stories of Harry Potter to life in incredible ways,” said Tom Williams, Chairman and CEO, Universal Parks and Resorts. “We are thrilled to be able to share this experience with our guests in Hollywood. And we are thrilled to take what has been created in Orlando to even greater levels."

Callum 07-12-2011 08:40 AM

I always had a feeling that WWoHP in Orlando would be expanded, I so hope they build a replica of Diagon Alley and that it features a Gringotts ride. :D

And a Platform 9-3/4. Getting the train to Hogwarts would be amazing :amazed:

Yep, that's been heavily rumoured. The Jaws ride is being shut down in early 2012 and people are speculating that the Hogwarts Express station will be it's replacement and it will take visitors into the Wizarding World itself. Would be amazing.

The SAG Awards nominations have been released and Deathly Hallows has been snubbed apart from this one category:

Outstanding Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture

and it's not looking good for any Oscar recognition either, Critics Choice and San Diego Film Critics have released their predictions and Hallows Part 2 is barely mentioned. Absolute disgrace. :bored: Alan Rickman in particular deserved to be nominated, I know the official Oscar nominations aren't released yet but these predictions are usually right and Alan gave his best performance of the series in Hallows Part 2. It's just unfair how Potter always gets snubbed. This last film was the final chance of Potter recieving any Oscar recognition.

Glenn. 14-12-2011 10:49 PM

It makes me sick :bored:

Considering just how much Potter has contributed to film over the last ten years.

Potter is one of the highest grossing film franchises of all time, you would think it would get some recognition.

I love Goblet of Fire, the series gets a lot darker and the film didn't do it proper justice. How could they not include Winky. :nono:

Glenn. 15-12-2011 12:21 AM

Winky

My disappointment with things being left out started with GoF.
