That's one of my favourite Julia Roberts movies.

I must have a look back along and see which ones I thought were best actually so far, Schindlers List was near the top definitely

Yes, that is an amazing movie.

...I watched The Game, it’s strange how you can completely miss a film, I hadn’t even heard of this and it’s not a new movie obviously...

...The Game...

Spoiler:

....although it was obvious from the beginning that it was all part of an elaborate game, it didn’t spoil any enjoyment of it...I was imagining if it were happening to me, I would still get caught up in it because we would still feel all of the dangers etc and the thrills...I had guessed that it was his brother from the beginning or more or less from the beginning as well...but I had thought that it was all designed by his brother to set up his death for real...(...a similar death to their father, maybe..?..as in to look like suicide...)...so that he inherited all of his money...I hadn’t figured it being a birthday ‘treat’.....

...but yeah, it was still fast paced and exciting and a really entertaining watch...I guess it was just a very, very elaborate version of an Escape Room birthday treat...a rich person’s Escape Room, how the other half live, eh...I did wonder if it would have all made him become addicted then and have to try to search for dangerous/exciting game experiences...I mean, how could he just have a regular party ever again...

Murder on the Home front

Spoiler:

it felt very TV movie-ish, I still enjoyed it though. I said to Gav at the start when we were given the suspects, that the Polish guy seemed least likely so it'll probably be him [emoji28] I like a who dunnit though

The Game

Spoiler:

I know watched this years ago but I didn't remember anything about it. It was really good though, very different, they caught me with that twist at the end as well, I thought he'd really killed Conrad

Ammi 18-04-2021 02:36 PM

...Murder on the Home Front.../...I’ve just realised that I didn’t do one for this yet...

Spoiler:

...basically the same as Niamh said, though...in that it felt a bit like a pilot for a TV series and just introducing the characters...and they were all likeable characters so I could see it becoming quite a popular series on a Sunday evening and I love me a murder to solve...the ending was gripping enough but there was nothing really outstanding about it ...I guess that I would describe it as ‘pleasant’ but nothing beyond that...definitely more a TV thing...

Ammi 18-04-2021 02:48 PM

...I’ll try to watch People Places Things this evening...

Niamh. 18-04-2021 03:01 PM

I'll do the same [emoji106]

Ammi 19-04-2021 07:10 AM

...People Places Things...

Spoiler:

...I guess that it was a relationship breakup movie that felt a bit more real, a bit more ‘relate-able’ I guess because it was about Will’s relationship with his two daughters, with his ex and facing that old dating scene again...plus his work not revolving around solitude at home and him teaching ...the ending of his marriage feeling more the beginning of him being less socially awkward...?...but that was obviously going to be an ongoing process as well, so the movie realistically didn’t show any quick ‘transformations’...he had said himself more or less that things don’t remain the same forever but his lifestyle and mindset etc were doing just that...‘remaining the same’...until he discovered Charlie was cheating on him...anyways, his daughters were adorable......Diane and Kat were lovely.....Will and Charlie’s lives would move on in the time it takes for a life change to move on...he seemed to find it easy to move on from Charlie cheating and forgiving the betrayal etc...but they were just terribly unsuited ...she had been the partner he wanted at a time in focusing on his own career...there were no heroes, there were no villains, there were no awful people etc ...ther were flaws and faults in both ...it was just a movie about a breakup and a moving on process when life suddenly changes and your living box has been tossed around a bit and shaken...

People Places Things

Spoiler:

I really liked this one, a bit quirky and an easy watch. I presume those flowers at the end were for Diane, I hope so, i was really hoping he wasn't going to get back with Charlie.

Ammi 19-04-2021 08:52 AM

...I saw one last night that I thought for a rewatch possibly but I can’t recall what it was......my head is sponge atm...I have to go now but I’ll check back later to see if you have any thoughts and if not I’ll check Amazon and Netflix later.....

Vanessa 19-04-2021 10:13 AM

Not a movie, but I've recently started to watch Peaky Blinders.
Wow, how did I never see this before?
I'm addicted already

If you want to do a classic rewatch Sleepers is on Netflix at the moment and that's an amazing film, haven't watched it in a few years

Ammi 19-04-2021 02:45 PM

Yep sounds good, it won't be tonight though because there's a Liverpool match on plus we have half a film to finish later too, a horror called The Vigil
