Niamh Emerson off to a great start in the Heptathlon, a 13.76 PB in the 100m Hurdles, and 1.89 =PB in the High Jump

It's even funnier in slow motion :joker:

That one guy just running inside the track to get around the barrier :skull:

And the Turkish guy still qualified :joker:

In other news, I've officially decided that Alicia Barrett is my favourite GB athlete to listen to being interviewed <333 This is how I imagine Bonneh to be if she was an elite GB athlete

Our 200m boys are doing good :clap2:

Macie Lightfoot 12-07-2018 03:56 PM

ughhh Rachel Baxter bailed out of her first two attempts at 4.10 and ran through her third attempt

Macie Lightfoot 12-07-2018 04:07 PM

Good race for Brooke Jaworski, really put the pressure on Xahria Santiago of Canada. I think this is her first year hurdling too and she has two more years as a U20

Macie Lightfoot 12-07-2018 04:10 PM

oh no Molly Caudery misses at 4.20

Smh I doubt she'll even be selected for the Europeans now

Headie 12-07-2018 04:23 PM

Watching these 400m Hurdles semis... any idea why Sydney McLaughlin decided to go pro mid-season as opposed to after the season was over?

She would've won Gold with ease at these champs and now it looks like the US might not even medal in the event.

Macie Lightfoot 12-07-2018 05:01 PM

I think just because she'd have to extend her season by another month and it probably felt like a very long year already with her first year in college and moving across the country and running lots of races at higher intensities? And like... we know she's good, she knows she's good, I guess she doesn't need the validation of winning U20.

And her figures haven't been disclosed yet but ever since she made the Rio team she's reportedly had insane professional offers of six or even seven figures so good for her for finally cashing in on that.

Hima Das has been very impressive but I'm ready for people to compare her to Semenya

Macie Lightfoot 12-07-2018 05:23 PM

I guess we'll know in a years time once the testosterone rules come into place (IF they aren't overruled by CAS)

Headie 12-07-2018 05:35 PM

Australia and Switzerland looked very good but they sat too far back on the first lap.

Mess and now they've given up trying to touch the athletes hands and are just awkwardly/annoyingly flossing as they walk past :skull:
