Brilliant article from Mugglenet on the Oscar snubs:

Looks awesome but I wanted extended editions for every film, not just the first two. Looks like they'll never see the light of the day now, bad decision. There was meant to be like an extra hour of footage from OOTP and I doubt it will be included on this. :( Oh and the price tag is huge, it's available to pre-order in the US at $349.99 which equates to £220 in the UK, for that price there should be so much more.

I'm pissed off with no OotP extended cut. It's a shame:bored:

Me too. I wanted to see all of the Department of Mysteries stuff, the St Mungo's scenes and the attack on McGonagall and Hagrid which were all filmed but didn't make the final cut. Doesn't feel right that we won't get to see none of that.

This much was filmed for each film:

Deathly Hallows (Close to 5 hours)
Half-Blood Prince (Close to 3 hours)
Order of the Phoenix (3 hours)
Goblet of Fire (Close to 3 hours)
Prisoner of Azkaban (A little more then two and a half hours)
Chamber of Secrets (3 hours)
Philosopher's Stone (Close to 3 hours)

and considering the actual runtimes a lot of stuff was cut from each one. I wish we could see all this unseen material, there's a definite demand for it.

The detail put into the scale model of Hogwarts is immense. So looking forward to going to the Studio Tour when it opens later this month.

best part of the film to me is in Snapes memories when he casts his patronus, and then it cuts to Snape holding Lilys dead body

I get chills every time

Yeah, I love that part. Alan Rickman was brilliant in all of them scenes, he gave a very believable and moving performance, why he wasn't nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the Oscars is beyond me.

King Gizzard 15-03-2012 08:47 PM

just had a random thought, I've probably asked it/had it answered in here before, what ever happened to Firenze in the movies, he's a teacher in the books :suspect:

Callum 15-03-2012 09:06 PM

Yeah, he's only ever in the first film briefly. Doesn't appear in any of the others. Loads of stuff from the fifth book didn't make the film sadly and Firenze was one of them. Only classes they really wanted to show in the films were Defence Against the Dark Arts and Firenze taught Divination so they didn't include him. That's why the books will always be much better.

King Gizzard 15-03-2012 09:08 PM

Poor Firenze, I loved the Centaurs

The Great Hall looks tiny outside of the film.

Smithy 08-07-2012 08:18 PM

A year ago yesterday since the Premiere in London, I remember watching the stream on youtube, can't believe it's gone so fast :o

Doogle 08-07-2012 08:20 PM

Still weird to think a year has passed since we all realised there would never be another HP movie.

Ninastar 08-07-2012 08:22 PM

-sobs-

we watched the 4th one this weekend. It's odd how you can watch them a countless number of times and never get bored

Jarrod 08-07-2012 08:37 PM

Watched this yesterday

Snapes Memories

I'm not ashamed to say my eyes fill with tears when Snape collapses against the wall when he sees Lily dead on the floor, and then let the tears trail down my face when Dumbledore asks, "After all this time", and.... I can't carry on. :bawling:

-slits wrists-

Ninastar 11-04-2013 10:18 PM
