Boris had to Rush to his Car

As Locals who voted Remain were
were shaking his Car and Shouting Scum.

I voted remain, but the majority voted leave. Thats life, the world still turns and we have to adjust to what the majority requested. However, I don't think this was an EU result, it was a "we are not happy with political institutions" vote and it will hit all the main parties hard.

I covered that in my first post LT. We don't have any meaningful industry or manufacturing that would support self-sufficiency in a population this size. We have a high levels of financial services that (IMO) rely heavily on being a portal to the European market, and then relying on that, we have an absolutely massive retail sector.

The Bank of England have promised stability.

They can only make that promise short term i.e. they can limit sudden or massive drops. They can do absolutely nothing to halt downwards trends over an extended time frame.

Britain will collapse?

bots 24-06-2016 08:55 AM

we lost 250 billion every day for about 2 weeks when we had the last recession, just to put it in perspective. The BoE are offering 250 in total..

Depends what you mean by "collapse". The country, and most individuals, will be significantly worse off.

We'll see. It's not very likely. Luckily it's not just theorising and musing... we will actually see.

arista 24-06-2016 09:16 AM

Labour MP John Mann Live on BBC News
just said it was the Labour Voters that won this leave Vote.

The irony is, Britain will always have to play by the EU's rules if it wishes to do business in Europe. That's why this was so ****ing stupid. It will have no political or economic power in Europe now.

Do you actually know anything on the subject?

bots 24-06-2016 10:03 AM

the rest of europe could easily follow suit now and then we will end up with common trade agreements which was the original intention of the common market. It could easily work out quite well.

Denver 24-06-2016 10:04 AM

I cant actually believe people think we will Have to pay £5 for chocolate when im sure we have a Cadbury factory in the UK

Jack_ 24-06-2016 10:04 AM

Well this is a nice welcome home isn't it

I never wanted this referendum in the first place because I knew this would be the result. The politics of fear always wins (see: last year's general election) and on the subject of Trump I also wouldn't rule a presidential victory out now either.

All I can do is laugh. I will laugh at those who voted for this who find that in the near future they're being forced to work longer, for less and with less rights like holiday pay when the Tories come for a trashing of them. I will laugh when their bills for things that were capped under EU law skyrocket. I will laugh if and when it transpires that you need a ****ing visa to visit France. Only then will people realise the mistake they've made.

That said, I am delighted at how engaged so many people were in democracy and politics, it is great to see. Congrats to the Leave side, but your insults about sour grapes and being 'bitter' are completely pointless. Of course I'm ****ing bitter. This is MY future you've just ****ed, and I will bloody well tell you about it

Hope the Scots get another opportunity to get the **** away from Little Englanders and rightly take it this time
