Elon Musk was very ill-advised to do this kind of salute to denote his clearly
stated ‘my heart goes out to you’ sentiment… but he obviously didn’t mean it as
a Nazi salute and anyone who says he did is being a disingenuous idiot.

The most hopeful thing that can be said about it, is that I think Musk is enough of a troll/weirdo/uncaring of consequences/off his tits on Ket, that he MIGHT have been doing it simply to deliberately wind people up.

What is humorous though is that to genuinely believe he didn't know what he was doing, you have to believe that he is stupid. Like just plain dumb. Those are your three options; he's a white supremacist, he's a troll, or he's stupid.

My opinion would be that he's 25%-70%-5% of the above, in terms of his reasoning for doing this.

The worrying part isn't that he did it it's actually the very thing we're seeing here: the lengths people will go to to make excuses for it.
