George clearly wasn't a fan, had snide digs and was there for the money plus I think Davina was clearly reading off a script as she lived in France during the week and flew back in for Friday show because she admitted it in an interview but tbh can't see her returning as presenter if BB were to return...

Oh yeah George Lamb clearly didn't give a crap about the show at all.

Emma, Yeah Emma is a fan and that but BB Knowledge? During 'That Gameshow Thing' on Sundays I literally found myself yelling the answers at the screen and she didn't know a thing, infact I think those quizzes were fixed for some reason lol Not that it matters though, but I always loved watching them anyway.

Yes. I knew it would be back. I know it will be back!!!!

Beastie 30-01-2011 01:09 PM

Apparently Dawn French is a big fan of the show. However it's clear that Emma Willis would be a fantastic house for Big Brother.

Other people who would be good would be Caroline Flack and Fearne Cotton. However not sure if these 2 are actually fans of Big Brother. It would help if the new presenter actually watched the first 10 years of BB :)

Not necessarily, while it is likely talks have re-opened (Broadcast are an industry publication not a tabloid), I'm not so sure I believe the five years thing (as I said, unless they mean a one year contract with a five year option) and the extension from 13 weeks thing was probably taken from the September articles that suggested that.

Oh so you think the people who have connections with C5 just added those parts in to make it sound more exciting? Fair enough.

The Five Years thing is abit, well shocking considering how much bad press the show had got. But I suppose as the article said it depends on how well the show does.

I really hope extending the show isn't true though, that would destroy it.

No, just means the full, original article is no longer available to view as Broadcast magazine's site requires a subscription to access.

Btw, this has also been reported in The Sunday Times with mention of Desmond wanting to breath new life into the format.

Oh Cool!
It's weird it's not even in the Daily Star though? I mean Desmond owns that paper, surely a way to get publicity would be to put it in that?

Actually if this is true and in a few weeks time we get it confirmed, I wonder if Desmond will have Big Brother plastered all over his paper?
Think about it, it's free advertising really to boost the show's ratings alot.

I can see the headlines now: 'BBIG COMEBACK!' followed by a picture of the Big Brother 12 Logo.

12 people living inside her?

Caroline Flack presented BBBM a few times I think and Fearne Cotton is mates with Davina so, possibly. But Fearne's presenting style is a little irritating. Like on that Must Be The Music, her kind of monotonic voice was grating. Although, after Davina's shouting it might be a nice change lol.

Beastie 30-01-2011 01:13 PM

The show will be revamped. Channel 5 will be more lenient and give al the housemates more booze and parties.

It should ALWAYS be a vote to SAVE.

Not sure if they will do this though. The company earns more money if it's a vote to EVICT. More people vote if it's a vote to EVICT I think.

However with a vote to save it will more likely secure the entertaining ones to stay in, in which the public will take higher interest and will hopefully result in higher ratings.

Beastie 30-01-2011 01:14 PM

Lol it's funny that Patrick thought I and other people were deluded that it will come back soon ;)

If this is true, then the fact that neither side has accepted the invitation to confirm or deny it suggests they have some sort of non-disclosure, confidentiality agreement (plus talks could fall through again yet).

Blog home Will Desmond make Big Brother red hot?

Share Comments (0) According to a Sunday Times story today, Richard Desmond has resurrected his hopes of screening Big Brother on Channel 5.

He believes, says the story, that "he can breathe new life into the show's format, which could be heavily promoted in his publications [the Daily Express and Daily Star plus OK! magazine]."

But one key reason for BB's past success was the level of coverage it received in all the tabloids.

I imagine that, should C5 get the show, it will get precious little space in rival papers and magazines, especially given the public's loss of enthusiasm for it.

Then again, what does "new life" mean? Perhaps Desmond plans to draw on the values exhibited by the television channels in his Red Hot TV portfolio, such as Dirty Talk, Filth and Television X.

I wouldn't read much into that, The Sunday Times, while not a tabloid, is owned by News Corp (owners of several of the worst offending tabloids), so they're probably just re-reporting and adding to Broadcast's story (I haven't seen the article, Sunday Time's site is also subscription only, but it's referenced on The Guardian website).

Yeah actually, Infact if they do fall through we're all going to look like dick heads for getting excited and like partying and making a new forum for this and stuff.

I bet talks do fall through, we'll hear in about 4 weeks 'Desmond is not bringing Big Brother back' and we'll all just be like  :bored: :bawling:

It would be devastating.

I'm not excited, in the slightest, 1. because nothing's been signed or confirmed, 2. because I've got a horrible feeling C5 BB would be low rent, chavvy awfulness and scare off the few remaining people who didn't already believe it to be such.

Not that anyone will watch it. Nobody's watched Channel 5 since Rebecca Loos wanked that pig off on The Farm.

You need housemates with a mixture of psychopathness and intelligence. And of course.. "good looks" for the shallow people.

Although, it is added that this 'could be reduced if performance targets are missed'. Which, in other words, means that it'll be axed after about three weeks on air.

What a bastard.

Holy Moly = A (successful) celebrity news site where celebrities are slagged off by him and his writing team in order to please it's jealousy-ridden readership. Sort of like 3am girls, only less vicious and done, with exceptions, in jest.

(Thankfully, even Mr HM can't think of anything nasty to say about the beautiful Karen Gillan, most articles about her are written (understandably) in the style of a lovesick puppy :D)

Lol. Well they still might as well do a series. But no more than 10 weeks long. I remember when BB10 was on there was rumours that it could be axed half way through.

Reason?? Because that stupid series got rid of the 24 7 live feed :nono: Biggest mistake in BB history. When bb9 got around 4 million viewers and bb10 slumped to half of them ratings!

How do I know?
Because I've seen people posting it on their statuses and then other fans I haven't spoke to sense summer just asked me on Chat if it was true because they seen it in other people's statuses aswell.

But it's clearly bull, if it was confirmed WE would know before a bunch of chavs on Facebook.
But hey it's getting BB Publicity so...

Mmm think it will come back. Not sure if they can get a house ready and that for this summer though? Wait.. what about the usual house in Borehamwood? Can't they still use that?

The house is there and can be used for tv purposes because they endemol asked the local council for renewed planning permission. But I suppose channel 5 have a choice as to whether they want to use it or not. A new house would be good, though.
