Kids shouldn't be mods for a start. 20-25+. Some people are just plain overzealous.

Niall 16-05-2011 03:31 PM

I want to be a mod because it looks fun and I'd like to have a green name.

That and what Smithy said hehe. http://i.imgur.com/GF0CJ.png

Why is it a mess?

How would you go about cleaning it up?

Anno, it's a bit silly. Even though Greg's obviously a mature lad it still seems daft for adults joining up that they could be modded by a ****ing teenager.

Plus I hear his body is a weapon.

Because, without naming any names, you see the same people all the time, cause arguments then act the victim when they're punished

Harsher punishments of course

I pretty much agree with a lot of your posts but not this one of yours. At the end of the day it is only modding on a forum and there should be enough mods to work things out between them, and age is irrelevant really past 18 for modding for obvious reasons of course, as maturity in decision making and handling of forum situations is more of a reason for choosing a mod surely?

Like I said ... overzealous. You're a fine member but mods need to be well spoken people who always take care with the content of their posts.

You're a bit err ... casual shall we say. I've seen you make loud noises in threads sometimes just to get noticed. There's nothing particularly evil about that - plenty of us are guilty of it - but we aren't the ones that should be mods IMO.

Some people just want to be mod because they want to be a mod. Bad people to pick, IMO. It should be seen as an extra bit of work you have to do in addition to being a regular member. Not a cool title to increase your own reputation.

Fair enough I agree it's not a huge deal as long as they are over 18. I suppose my real gripe is with 15 and 16 year olds begging to be mods as they usually do.

Just taking the mickbiscuit, to be honest.

:cat: I am indeed 19. I was 18 when I was made a moderator. I don't think age is really the issue, it's more the maturity with which moderators can deal with situations that arise on the forums. Essentially if you've got a track record of being infracted, you'd need to put a lot of effort into turning that reputation back around before you'd realistically be considered, etc.

Casual yes as i don't always take care with my punctuation. But i have never intentionally made 'loud noises' to get noticed. And i couldn't care about 'reputation' in the slightest. So please do not throw accusations at me when you don't know me.

But your opinion is your opinion and you can think what you like in regards to who should be a mod but don't accuse me of things that you have no proof of me doing. It may in your eyes seem that way but you don't know what i think when i post so don't assume anything please.

But what if your infractions are for something not very serious like oh I don't know, avoiding the swear filter? http://i.imgur.com/Iu8a5.png

That's why they call it an opinion. I have formed it from what I have seen. Not based on who you actually are but who you are online. The way you come across. Of course I'm not judging you on a personal level. Personal level and posts are two very different things.

I've lost count of the amount of times I've heard you pining to be picked for something/annoucing that you are here/openly sympathizing with yourself because you weren't picked/noticed for something/etc. The reply you gave there just shows how neurotic and sensetive you can be about yourself and the way people percieve you. I just don't think moderators should be like that. If you disagree then that's cool.

I could be wrong, I could be right. It's just an opinion, nothing more. A daft opinion by some dude that probably won't ever be taken into account. It's nothing to sweat.

Remember I'm holding myself to the same standards. I would in no way think of myself as being good moderator material.

Iceman 16-05-2011 04:03 PM

Charlie I dont think Stu meant anything by his post, I think you've taken that up all wrong.

MTVN 16-05-2011 04:07 PM

It should just be those of us who havent had any infractions who get the chance to be Mod

Actually it shows nothing. It shows I will do as I please and not let people like you with your opinions rule me.

I post in the same manner that basically everyone else does as those are the points of those particular threads. Im sorry if you get annoyed with me chatting on the chat threads. And I'll agree I announce when I'm around as i want to have conversations with people in places like 'The Asylum' and no one will talk to me unless I take the first move but not once have I complained about being picked or sympathised with myself in a serious way.

Not saying that I could be responsible enough to take on the role of a moderator is judging on a personal level as you do not know how I would act if I were given that responsibility. I do not think I would ever be picked for the role nor should I but assuming I couldn't do it because of my age is complete rubbish. It is also rubbish to assume because I explain the reasons behind my posts it makes me sensitive.

Where have I ever expressed an intention to 'rule you'?

And where did I say you annoy me?

These hysterical overreactions which you so clearly have a capacity for are why I don't think, personally, you would make a good mod. If you want to be a mod you have to be judged and put under scrutiny by the members. That's the whole idea. You can't say 'I would love to be a mod. You can't judge me though. Just make me a mod or don't'. Everything you seem to hate about what I'm saying to you here is part of the parcel of being a mod or even being considered to be a mod.

I just personally think the new mods should be like robots. Nothing more. Strict, precise, fair men of steel.

Fooking hell. This is one timebomb I'm walking away from.
