RED KEN - Your secret is out. :hmph:

I bet you've got a stash of noveau rich cards with gorgeous Russian ladies on them, adorned with fine white furs and dripping with gold - promising all sorts of naughty goodies in Christmas Stockings. :nono:

Out sinner..... out.

Their cigars are the finest too .... all the more so when they are tantalisingly rolled, none too moralistically, along the slender thighs of some raven haired beauty beauty.

I know many people do not prefer to buy from their local because it is more expensive. Why? Because the big supermarkets sell items at ""cheap" prices with sneaky profits. So wrong.

big companies seem to have huge amounts of control over us, what are we supposed to do about it?

Complain that you can't find enough religious cards amongst their selection of Christmas cards?

Choose not to purchase anything from them in the first instance: shop at your local high street shops, local farms, local markets? Plenty that can be done if a person really wants to take the moral high ground - most of us don't though.

:nono: Believe me: having seen my mother's face many years ago - as well as my father's ........ and me wondering why mother was about to implode: I can vouch for that.

Done quite nice in the Phillipines too btw...... another country that is highly religious.

MTVN 22-12-2011 07:19 PM

Can we refrain from getting too heated and personal in here please.

If you actually look at most Christmas traditions - the Tree, exchanging gifts, even the date itself - most of them actually pre date Christianity and stem from other religions. I see nothing wrong with the secularisation of Christmas

Proof indeed that religion is more hassle than it's worth: - it's people's own money to buy what they want, where they want and for whatever reason they want, for whom they want : some people like the fun element of Christmas - some don't. C'est la vie.

Pyramid has said that this thread is not about her. She is absolutely right!

so why then, are we having to hear never asked for personal stories about her 'mother and father's face'

it's time the double standard stopped. If people are not allowed to speak about Pyramid personally, then it seems logical that we also have the right not to have to our threads constantly slobbered on by her personal stories.

Deary me.

If I wish to bring in a personal reference: there is nothing to stop that - I believe you referred on this very thread to you, to boiling yourself on several occasions. No one asked you about your penchance for dipping yourself in hot oil etc. The thread isn't about you -but I'm not complaining when you do that.

Shouldn't you be taking this off the thread anyway. :conf:

Well....hell mend you - that's what happens when you go about dipping yourself in hot oil. Whoever gave you that advice, gave you bad advice.
:nono:

It's not taken your mind off the whole lack of moral fibre issue relating to religious Christmas cards has it ?

fruit_cake 22-12-2011 08:10 PM

Oh that's a terrible photo..... :nono: As for flat beer in large pitcher jugs, no thank you, so terribly unladylike. In fact - is that a plastic cup I see as well......... oh no, I have far more class than that. :D

Now weren't you complaining vehemently about this thread not being about me - yet here you are turning it right back into that. :conf:

:joker:

Tee hee........ I can think of far better things to be getting all full of internal rage about - a few moaners in a paper going on about being able to buy their religious Christmas cards - really is never going to one of them!! I think it's hilarious.

Much ado about nothing.

Harry I love reading through those comments, some of them show you why the world is the way it is. The UK in particular, little Britain is really a seeming mass of bigotry and intolerance

MTVN 22-12-2011 08:35 PM

A good way to find the most rational viewpoints on a topic is to go to the DM comment section and read the "worst rated" ones

Well, speaking for mesums here - I'm happy to socialise with the Kafflick Cats as well as the Proddy dugs and anything in between - and I'm not too bothered what colour they are.

I do prefer that they smoke though. I also prefer that they are non bible thumpers.

More importantly though: I don't particularly mind what kind of Christmas card they send me - though I have a preference for cute ones.
