i wish we could have her actual friends and people she performed with doing the tribute, not just people that are seen as power voices today like jhud or alicia keys. that would be better.

I can't say he is to blame: Whitney ultimately had a choice, but by God, BBrown did his best to make sure he dragged her down to the same level (and below) as him. Whether they were soul mates or not: it wasn't a healthy relationship nor a healthy love.

I cannot help imagine how things would have been if she'd never met and got involved with him. Not that that matters now.

I had a friend with a relationship the rest of us thought of as toxic, but no matter how long they spent apart the always gravitated back together. It was really painful to see it happen time and time again.

But i'm going to give Brown the benefit of the doubt and I would like to think that he loved her so much and he is genuinely so devastated that after the grammy performance he will grief out of the public with his daughter.

I haven't -but I'm always suspicious of autobiographies: given that they are penned by the person writing the book: and the info presented can be twisted to suit their own agenda so to speak. That's not to say it may not be true of course.

However, I am more than aware that despite popular belief that Whitney was purer than the driven snow - she in fact grew up with drugs and had a tougher (more street wise) upbringing that many realise - she wasn't some overly protected, coveted, pampered wee soul that many think she was.

I also recall watching a reality show with him mortifying her on tv by tellng the camera crew that he had to shove his fist up her anus to pull out what she was unable to push out through normal toilet means...... as he began the story, she 'knew what he was going to say' and tried to tell him to stop, that it didn't need to be revealed. She was absolutely mortified (understandably) - to publically reveal something like that was sick, horrible and disgraceful - and it was at that point, I saw he didn't care for her as much as it was perceived.

I couldn't sleep last night because I'm ill so I turned capital fm on and heard about this, and sat there and cried, such a tragic, tragic death.

aw don't. :( Poor girl on top of being devastated must feel like people don't care about her mother. All those clebs are like "oh whitney was the greatest of all time we will always love you" yet are having a party downstairs while her body is still warm upstairs.

I'm surprised by people saying how shocked they are.

I mean, it's absolutely tragic and my condolences go out to her family and friends but it's far from surprising really.
Celebrities who lead the life she did usually always end tragically, and she took drugs all through her career.

so beyonce is always quick to give a statement about a huge celeb death is she quiet this time because the death overshadowed the introduction of "her" baby? :D

I think the reason might be that deep down we hope that they will pull through it and to be honest, for me anyway, when I think of a celeb I admire I think more about the reasons why I admire them and less about their private life so when they go it is still genuinely a shock. In general it's shocking when a celeb that has just always been there regardless just stops being there

It could be that people place celebs on a pedestal due to their talent, but they are mere mortals and if you abuse your body over a considerable period of time it will stop working.

Hours before her death whitney was seen giving monica and brandy who were due to perform at the pre-party. They are not performing anymore though, too distraught. She was brandys fave and it w as also brandys birthday yesterday :(
