The one with Drake and Swimming Pools are the most popular according to itunes, and they're my least favourite

Locke. 23-10-2012 11:27 PM

Swimming Pools is probably my favourite song this year. The Drake track is probably the worst on the album though

Samuel. 23-10-2012 11:28 PM

I like Swimming Pools and Poetic Justice.

Real is the weakest if any imo.

Brother Leon 23-10-2012 11:43 PM

The Drake tune and Swimming pools is just so out of place. Like he made the Album them made them two at the end  M.A.A.D City and Sig About Me are my personal faves. The Recipe remix got me into the original now. Wasn't feeling it first.

200k is very good figures for 2012 never mind Hip Hop in 2012. Meek Mill's album out Tuesday...god bless the second they decided to release their hit after each other :worship:

Not everyone is a fan of Kendrick Lamar's audio-cinematic LP good kid, m.A.A.d city. Since dropping his major-label debut on Monday, K-Dot has received a ton of critical and fan praise, with many heralding his album an instant classic, but the young Compton MC does have his detractors, most notably exiled rapper Shyne.

"Yoooo! Kendrick Lamar is talented with a lot of potential but his album is traaaaash," Shyne tweeted of the Dr. Dre-helmed album before comparing it to Game and 50 Cent's debut projects. "The game Documentary even 50 get rich or die trying lived up to the hype and were classics. Good kid is trash!"

Po's comments didn't seem to rattle Kendrick in the least bit, but his Top Dawg Entertainment labelmate and Black Hippy rhyme partner Schoolboy Q quickly came to K-Dot's defense. Q wrote: "We all know @OriginalSHyne AIN'T EATIN!!!!! N*gga ain't had a hot verse since '01." Shyne fired back with a tweet that included a homophobic slur (since deleted apparently but still visible in a screen grab captured by MTV News) and told Q, "When mobsters talking rappers be quiet!"

Houston MC Slim Thug, who seems to be impartial with no direct ties to Kendrick or TDE weighed in as well by retweeting one of Shyne's messages preceded by two emojis: a surprised face and a pistol pointed to the head.

If only it wasn't for that ridiculous 60 rating NME gave it... wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't such a terribly written and short review.

Brother Leon 25-10-2012 11:28 AM

NME hates anything urban. Only remember them truly liking Dizzee's BIDC which was a British masterpiece so they had no choice really.

"Personally, I think Shyne should just back away and let the kid breathe and if not, I don't know, we might find ourselves face-to-face or sh-- that nobody really wants to see happen," Game said of the deported Shyne Po. "Kendrick is non-confrontational, he's not a thug, he's not a gang banger, he's just a dope, hip-hop lyricist, but he's from the streets and he got a lot of ties out here and a lot of good hood n---as with him and I'm one of them."

Lamar about to catch a body

Doogle 26-10-2012 06:04 PM

I've listened to pretty much all of Section.80 now and I'm not sure which I prefer tbh, but glad to see GKMC doing so well.

Brother Leon 26-10-2012 09:52 PM

So, what we think?

My opinion.......Life Is Good is far from a Hip Hop classic. GKMC could be seen as one though in the future. Not up with Ilmatic,Reasonable Doubt or Chronic amongst others, but still a definite potential.

Samuel. 26-10-2012 11:24 PM

Still prefer Section.80, as great as GKMC is.

I still think Channel Orange is my AOTY, just.

Samuel. 26-10-2012 11:35 PM

By far the best bonus track.

King Gizzard 27-10-2012 12:44 AM

can remember when I thought WZRD was amazing ffs. Definitely think GKMC will be as close to classic as you can get, not up there with The Chronic et al though

Brother Leon 27-10-2012 12:47 AM

This is better than Channel Orange imo. Still not sure if I may be thinking This is better than what it is simply due to how terrible 2012 has been

Locke. 27-10-2012 03:59 AM

Second place after Miguel's Kaleidoscope Dream

King Gizzard 28-10-2012 08:54 PM

Honorary degree to Samuel for introducing us to the ways of Kendrick

Brother Leon 28-10-2012 08:56 PM

Samuel>>>>

My boy told me about him a while ago, but I ignored him, because I didn't really like Cartoon & Cereal, but Samuel's dedication made me give him a 2nd chance.

King Gizzard 28-10-2012 09:06 PM

Second part of M.A.A.D City with that beat though. The drums >
