Exactly. I didn't realize how tough the comp was last night, Mr Selfridge opened to 7.4m, and Ripper Street got 5.4m.

Jesus, well I'm expecting it will fare better tonight. If it's been able to hold up against the tough competition, it should begin to do better.

Raitings Should Only go Up Tonight, kids talking about it in school in the play ground adults talking about it in work, think it shuld go up another 200 thousand maybe more.

I did say that last night would be it's toughest competition yet, both were massively hyped, they were easily going to beat EE's 7m against it the other day and thanks for posting last nights ratings, 7 days without sleep (insoniac) finally took it's toll.

The +1 figures this year are about double last year so far, is that just this series being more popular with it's viewers than CBB9 or is it the +1 channel having grown in it's absence?

I'd say it's more of the latter myself

SSL2012 07-01-2013 11:30 AM

Surely the competition isn't as tough tonight?

2.5million :)

As far as I'm aware, the channel still rarely goes over 100k when not airing BB, so I think it might be a bit of both, that said, it is available on two more platforms now and that only changed recently.

Yeah true! I'm just glad CBB is still doing well. After the recent over-exposure I was a bit worried, but it seems to be doing as well as before (although the last couple of episodes have been hurt by competition, I'm sure it will fare better in the coming episodes)

Hopefully it will build on that, at least on Wednesday's eviction or Thursday (BB's biggest day of the week for ratings)

Yeah, hopefully/ Any idea on if it has any major competition tonight?

daniel-lewis-1985 07-01-2013 12:03 PM

Thats good considering the competition.

Even though it deserved far less for being such an utterly gimicky episode full of music montages and to much Marcus puns.

Petershaw1984 07-01-2013 12:30 PM

In pleased these ratings are good. Really wabt it to be a success

jackc1806 07-01-2013 12:32 PM

Against Miranda, Mrs Browns Boys, Lewis and Embarrassing Fat Bodies tonight.

SSL2012 07-01-2013 12:32 PM

In reality, it's done phenomenal, to get just over 2mil with the competiton all the other channels had on and it being a weekend, is not to be sniffed at.

Ch 5 must be thrilled. I think when the officials come aswell, this will be well above Cbb 10, and possibly Cbb 9

daniel-lewis-1985 07-01-2013 12:46 PM

Last night was only slightly up on last year.

If we want to see an average to match CBB9 it needs to pick up but competition on other channels is reallu tough this month.

BigBrotherfan4ever 07-01-2013 12:50 PM

I'm so pleased that ratings are stay pretty steady, I really though the figures would be awful lastnight cause of the competition of the other channels.

To be up at all with 14m's worth of competition (not including +1) from the terrestrial channels alone (23.69m competition overall, 3.73m more than against EE on Friday), is astounding and only slightly up (last night on CBB10) or not, shows a MUCH greater viewer loyalty and enjoyment than then (probably more than CBB9 too).

I think your putting way too much emphasis on it being a requirement to do that, it's great that it is matching CBB9 so far, but we have to remember that considering it didn't have the curiosity factor CBB8 did (first C5BB, first CBB with current zelebs rather than 80s icons, etcetera), CBB9 did far better than anyone really expected it to, to finish a 100k or 2 behind it in such a busy month wouldn't be a particularly bad thing, the ratings show that with CBB9's competition, CBB11 would easily be matching it right now and Channel 5 are aware of this. It might still match it yet, the competition's a bit stiff again tonight, but it's holding up well, and we have yet to see how it will fair in the slightly quieter 10pm slot Tuesday and Thursdays.

*mazedsalv** 07-01-2013 07:55 PM

Not sure if it will increase tonight, didn't Miranda (which I love and will catch up on later) get over 9m last week? And MBB also continues to do incredibly. Both shows very popular with younger audiences.

I reckon officials could give it quite a big boost because of the competition CBB has had, so I reckon it really can match CBB9's 2.6m. I mean last night officially would have got around 2.5m.

Yeah, 9.04m Mrs Brown's Boys managed 8.1m, amazing really considering it was New Years Day.

DigitalSid 07-01-2013 09:32 PM

I know fans are no indicator of anything (and this is probably more down to tonight's being a better show) but on DS (simply because it's a larger sample):

994 replies (40 pages) were made in yesterday's discussionn thread, including BOTS.
813 replies (33 pages) have been made in tonight's discussion thread already tonight before BOTS has aired.

By 101 and 153 posters respectively.

SSL2012 07-01-2013 09:39 PM

Your prediction for tonight digital Sid?

Not sure. 2-2.2m, can't see it being up, the competition is just as big, if not bigger than last night.

DigitalSid 07-01-2013 10:01 PM

TIBB discussion stats for completeness:
206 replies by 35 posters last night in total
226 replies by 28 posters tonight so far.

Again, doesn't really mean anything, a lot of people will choose to post one night, but not another, depending on what happens etcetera but interesting none the less.

So both had increased posts but TIBB repliers decreased by 7 night on night, DS's increased by about a 3rd.

*mazedsalv** 07-01-2013 10:13 PM

I reckon around 2.1m for tonight.

I think we could see a huge +1 showing, again, I know Twitter doesn't indicate anything, BUT during the +1 showing, more CBB related topics were trending than during the 9pm showing. A lot of tweets saying how they watched the comedy double in BBC1 and then CBB on +1.
