I do indeed. i'm just not gonna bother. TS4 looks **** anyways.

I actually really liked TS3 I don't get why so many people hated it.

I've been playing the sims 2 again in anticipation. The dramas in Pleasantview are ICONIC. I don't think that game will ever be topped in the series imo :clap1:

I hope this game flops harder than a magikarp tbh. It ****ing deserves it.

Imagine how good a Sims games would be if it launched with stuff like Pets, Holidays and University, Sims games would actually get NEW stuff for expansions, not just the same rehashed crap.

Braden 31-08-2014 07:19 PM

That's the thing with Sims though, the base game is so basic when you have all of the expansion packs. When you look back on The Sims 3 it barely had anything exciting to it, the novelty came from the fact it was new.

If a base game had everything from seasons to university, people would get bored with it fast. Especially because it restricts ideas for expansion packs.

Scarlett. 31-08-2014 07:23 PM

But you're basically buying the same stuff over and over for £20. Basically, for everything in the Sims 3, you'd have to pay $500+, is it really worth it? EA are ripping Sims fans off, and Sims fans just lie down and take it.

Braden 31-08-2014 07:27 PM

That's Sims for you, fans don't complain because they love the game too much.

Jordan. 31-08-2014 07:28 PM

I can't really think what new expansions they could do

Nor can I.

I would love some sort of expansion pack that could help players who use it to replicate things such as Big Brother, or other reality shows like Survivor. That would be so cool.

Jordan. 31-08-2014 07:30 PM

I've got a new laptop coming next week and the game preordered for release day. Roll on friday http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...8/ec20fb7f.gif

Niall 31-08-2014 08:22 PM

To be honest they could just break the expansion formula and just add loads of things into the base game and then only release a couple of expansions, then re-tool and re-release once graphics and computer technology has again improved significantly enough.

Niall 31-08-2014 08:24 PM

That's how every other computer-based game franchise has worked (case in point being Civilization) and it's worked marvelously for them. Why can't the Sims follow suit? Because EA are money grabbing cunts, that's why.

Exactly! I'd far prefer if they did something like that where the base game was absolutely crammed with things and had a lot of replay value, rather than having to keep on waiting for the next expansion.

Braden 31-08-2014 08:33 PM

What's wrong with any company being money-grabbing? Isn't that the whole point of their success?

People who think it's an issue shouldn't buy the game. And tbh there are other ways around having to buy endless amounts of expansion packs.

There's a problem with it when they're doing it for the pure sake of it. There's minimal innovation with the Sims anymore. EA just re-release the same expansions and the same basic games with nothing more than a mere graphics upgrade because they know it's a safe bet that'll be an easy cash cow for them.

Niall 31-08-2014 08:47 PM

Like I can only think of 3 or 4 TS3 expansions that weren't already covered by TS2 in nearly exactly the same way.

Jamesy 31-08-2014 08:47 PM

All I've ever wanted to see with The Sims 3, and The Sims 4, is pets and seasons being on the base game. They are fundamentals in my eyes, just as much as the Sims themselves.

Everything else being re-hashed doesn't bother me too much. Us Sims fans will continue to pay for it either way.

But you can't blame EA because of that imo. Blame the people who buy the games.

But they should, if a game I liked started charging extortionate prices for content that should have really been included right away, I'd be pissed. You really shouldn't stand for it, or else they're gonna keep doing it over and over.

Remember in Sims 2 when you could download stuff off the website for free? Now they charge you, because they know they can get away with it, and they're gonna keep doing stuff like that.

I'm not bothered about it at all. It's not like I have to pay £500 (or whatever the sum is) for every single game in the franchise at once. EA spaces it out quite well because they know that people can get bored of the game.

And that's not relevant to me as such because I can't stand custom content. I can understand why people would be annoyed at that, but the game is good enough without additional custom content. And tbh I'm pretty sure people can download things for free, I've seen people upload custom designs to download already and the game isn't even out yet.

I ****ing hate amazon logistics, My copy isn't here yet :(

Braden 05-09-2014 01:20 PM

The game is really good imo, there's definitely room for improvement but the overall attention-to-detail is flawless in my eyes.

I can't wait for the expansion packs
