I don't drink but I don't care if people do

you can enjoy life at any age and there is nothing wrong with drinking, but if you do it to the point of being legless every weekend then its only a matter of time before it causes problems.

Of course they can, but Sherriff is offering his opinion based on his life experience as you are of yours, so both points are as valid as each other!

jackc1806 25-05-2014 10:32 AM

Why are people making out people are alcoholics? They're just being normal haha

I never said that people that drink are not decent people,
if I knew someone that came home legless every single week end then I would be doing the decent thing and having a word.

of course they do, but we are talking from the point of someone doing it every week end.

And? That's a matter for that person themselves to deal with isn't it, I'm pretty sure someone that drinks heavily every weekend will know the risks involved and will be able to make a choice as to whether they care or not. It's not up to you to decide that because as I said...it's their body. Some people don't care and there's nothing wrong with that

she is Spanish, she went back home for 4 days, so you can imagine what it was like for her to be in spain celebrating this win.

I don't even know how I knew that my memory, still as good as it was in 1901! It was a great match I didn't care who won really, just didn't want it to end really enjoyed it.

Jemal 25-05-2014 10:45 AM

Lol well, its peoples life to live.
But if your getting drunk every weekend then its abit mad for you.
I know if one of my boys/girls were doing that i would defo have a word.

Ofc its enjoying your life but it gets to a point. Legless every week is abit embarrasing to be blunt. I'm not saying i dont get legless but everyweek? Nope that can only lead to worser things imo.

Jack I think what Sherriff is saying is that whilst it may not cause the person themselves problems,it may be a problem for their family ie cause worry and stress.? What one person in a family does will impact on all the family, not just themselves.

No they don't? You have a drink problem if you become dependent on alcohol and can't pull yourself away from it, that's addiction. Making a conscious choice to drink every weekend but knowing if you wanted to you could stop and have a break from it does not mean you have a drink problem

I suppose it would if someone was alcohol dependent but where do you measure that compared to just going out like a normal teenager?

I don't really understand what you are saying tbh, are you saying parents would only worry if their kids were alcoholics?

Yes but there are genuinely a lot of people that could and thus that doesn't make them alcoholics. You're assuming that anyone that drinks on a regular basis doesn't have any self control, doesn't know what they're doing and can't regulate themselves. That's actually quite patronising
