is it so they can get into certain schools and stuff

i went to a roman catholic school ik you had to get christened to get in there

Yeah, you used to get a certificate of some sort from the priest to prove to the school you were christened and were part of that school's "parish", then if they had to turn down any applications the kids who were in the parish were given priority but they don't tend to check anymore.

..(I think..)..that you might also have to be christened to get married in a church as well...my boys were never christened...

I thought it had something to do with getting married? Idk.

..I don't know how they check though/if they ask for your Christening certificate if you want to get married..I didn't have mine when I did/I wouldn't even know where it was...
