It was not a tweet to a friend, you can't prove that. But judging by the profile picture alone, it's very safe to presume Marc is not buddies with somebody at least 10 years younger than him, probably closer to 15. I don't particularly think gender makes a difference, but I won't argue with that point. It was definitely meant to be nasty. The word banter would not stand up in a court of law and it definitely does not bode well with me. Twitter is a public domain. I don't have to follow him to see the tweet and make a judgement about how nasty it is, similarly I don't have to follow Obama to appreciate the greatness behind his lgbtqia tweet. That's not how Twitter works. |

Can we please have a bit of perspective here?
I don't like Danny or Marc. All Marc tweeted was that he wanted to commit a violent act of violation involving a domestic appliance. Afterwards, he probably would have used the Hoover to clean up the mess, because he's a nice guy most of the time. Also, how many people did he send the tweet to? That's right, just one! All he was doing was threatening to rape one person, not an entire country! I mean, what's one rape between friends? (And they would be friends afterwards, because no means yes and the victim, I mean, lucky recipient, would have been grateful afterwards.) And if by some chance the lucky recipient didn't like it, they'd have been lying. And fake. Now, all together in the style of Simon saying "showbiz!", can I get a "BANTER!"? |
It seems fake to me

Erm yeah. The first one isn't as bad as others that have now been hunted
https://twitter.com/marqoneill/statu...56707667398656 Having said that, this one definitely appears to be in response to a troll (even moreso given the account is suspended...). Still doesn't excuse the language though Why the **** do people use twitter? everytime I hear of it its for stuff like this. I had one like 6 years ago coz my mates got sick of seeing facebook updates about BB. I haven't logged in for about 4 years and every one of my tweets is rather mundane, not this rubbish D: |

guess nasty depends what you mean...nasty language..nasty intent..if it was a friend there doesn't seem to be any anger or ill intent with it and i already know the man has a potty mouth as you seeing it..i've seen many nasty horrible things said about marc and others here..i wouldn't be surprised if you said a few yourself..and with feeling of ill will nasty intent behind them... as far as i'm concerned that is no different to twitter as its just as public and comments made here come up in a google search |

Yeah there's absolutely no defending that and the tweet Vicky just linked there. c'mon guys he may be entertaining but seriously there's no denying he's a dickhead.

Looking at it objectively.
Yes it seems like a vile and nasty tweet. However,If that was sent as a threat to someone i think Marc could get into serious trouble with the law for that and i don't personally think he would be stupid enough to literally threaten rape on Twitter. I'd say on balance the likely hood it was sent to a friend who knows his sense of humour and they possibly speak like that to each other regularly is the more probable scenario here. However,If it turns out to be proven to be a genuine threat then it is seriously ****ed up. |

I'm only saying age matters because the person on the page barely looks like he's escaped adolescence. It is safe to presume they are not buddies based on their age. Adults being friends with younger adults isn't weird, I agree. But yes, if he said it to a friend I would concede and agree that it did not have a nasty intent but until this is proven, I refuse to believe that this was "banter" in any shape or form.. And so should you. |
