I'm not looking deeply into it at all, it's pretty straight forward, you made a statement about the personality traits of people who don't change their avatars and now you're acting like that's not making a judgement which is quite bizarre

lostalex 07-09-2015 11:04 AM

anyways. it's really not a big deal. anyone can change their avatar whenever they want and how ever often as they want. it really doesn't matter.

This is really a silly thread, isn't it?

You can make accusations all you like, I'm aware of what I meant if you misinterpret my post then that's your issue, I've attempted to clarify but you won't accept so....

I genuinely don't understand what you meant though? It was a pretty self explanatory statement unless of course you were talking about someone specific and not people in general who don't change their avatars, then it would have a whole different meaning..........

That's a very interesting point, Niamh.

Judge not lest yet be judged.

If someone let their avatar determine how they were reacted to and/or how they reacted to others then that is pretentious and weird.... that's not to say I could have any clue how they are as a person outside of this forum to make a judgement on their personality, do you understand me now?

Is this a mish mash of this?...
Have you ever been having a constructive discussion with someone, whether they be on the opposite side of the political spectrum or even just in disagreement over something relating to Church teaching, and just as you have your partner on the ropes, you hear the famous line, “Jesus said judge not lest ye be judged! Stop judging!”
Its one the most overused and misunderstood of Jesus’ teachings that you will probably find. I say this because this is generally used as a cop out when the debate is being lost and for the most part, most people don’t know how to properly refute this point.

“Stop judging, that you may not be judged. For as you judge, so will you be judged, and the measure with which you measure will be measured out to you. Why do you notice the splinter in your brother’s eye, but do not perceive the wooden beam in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove that splinter from your eye,’ while the wooden beam is in your eye? You hypocrite, remove the wooden beam from your eye first; then you will see clearly to remove the splinter from your brother’s eye. “Do not give what is holy to dogs, or throw your pearls before swine, lest they trample them underfoot, and turn and tear you to pieces. Matthew 7:1-6'

“Stop judging and you will not be judged. Stop condemning and you will not be condemned. Forgive and you will be forgiven. Give and gifts will be given to you; a good measure, packed together, shaken down, and overflowing, will be poured into your lap. For the measure with which you measure will in return be measured out to you.” And he told them a parable, “Can a blind person guide a blind person? Will not both fall into a pit? No disciple is superior to the teacher; but when fully trained, every disciple will be like his teacher. Why do you notice the splinter in your brother’s eye, but do not perceive the wooden beam in your own? How can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me remove that splinter in your eye,’ when you do not even notice the wooden beam in your own eye? You hypocrite! Remove the wooden beam from your eye first; then you will see clearly to remove the splinter in your brother’s eye. Luke 6:37-42'

Just to clarify.. I didn't attempt to judge anyone.

But you said it was how often they change their avatar not what the actual avatar is. So obviously you were speaking about someone specific then and not people in general who don't change their avatars

'I think those who keep the same are pretentious and weird'

Would you like me to amend it to 'some' I will if it would make you happier.

I think some of those who keep the same are pretentious and weird.

Is that better?

You need to keep yours. Every time you post I hear it in the shady tone of voice your avatar. Any other emotion would confuse me. :joker:

It was clearly a dig at someone and I think we all know who, let's be honest

I change mine based on current events. Kenzie bc Celebrity Big Brother, and now Matt Smith bc Doctor Who. I've already got a cute Mariah one sorted, come December.
