 custom infractions like this are ridiculous though, and like josy said, not everything is in the rules so mods have to use thier own initiative, I imagine most of the infractions handed out aren't even on that list because it's usually stuff like "causing drama" "didn't drop it etc" which are all custom infractions and are given out at varying levels depending on the mod, plus why are there 4 different ones for insults

The premade infractions are just generic examples to give us an idea of point allocation, if we create a custom infraction, say for causing drama then we'll use a similar amount of points to the 'insults to other members' infraction. If you repeat the same offense then you'll get more infraction points which is why there's multiple 'insult' infractions with higher points. It's a guide line of how many points we should hand out, not a rigid template of what we should infract people for.

I hate cheese!!!

Now 100 forum members might agree with this comment or even laugh at that comment but another 100 might be totally offended by it simply because they love cheese and how dare the poster use the very harsh word HATE when describing cheese. Both sides are right to have their own opinion on it. Both sides agree to disagree with each other about it etc and more importantly niether side gets punished for it. The problem only arises when the 201st person reads this comment who just so happens to be a moderator. They have the power to take action for or against this comment depending on their own personal take on it. Unfortunately if that moderator is a cheese lover they will agree that this comment is in fact offensive to cheese and there is every chance that the original poster is getting an infraction for using the word HATE against cheese.
And all because they hate cheese and you don't. :joker:

Basically no. Nice try though.

If you have multiple infractions for insulting people then you do it again the infractions points will likely be higher.

Ok but what about the insult, if I called some a ****ing ***** and it was the first time I'd insulted anyone would that be a one point infraction as apposed to someone else who called everyone idiots on the daily would they then get a 9 point infraction?

Just doesn't seem very fair to me

If everyone acted like me nobody would be infracted #goodboy

Doing what? answering you, you are in this thread asking questions you either want an answer to them or you don't.

You weren't messaging me about your ban, in fact you never messaged me about that ban or infraction at all yet you post in here that 'theres no discussion' that was clearly posted to make the mods look bad when in reality there was no discussion because you hadn't attempted any.

Why is it not fair? someone continually breaking the rules by insulting people daily obviously deserves a harsher infraction than someone that has never broken a rule but got angry once and posted a minor insult.

What are you getting so defensive about? I thought I messaged you but obviously I didn't. My mistake.

I think another thing i'll say about the "rules"... this forum used to be very sexual and no problem, now we are being constantly reminded that there are 13 y/o's all around us and everyone must act like we are primary school teachers...

This is a big brother forum, big brother is an adult program. there is even a warning at the beginning of the show now because people are so sensitive, it's an ADULT program. but we are expected to speak like we are talking to 13 y/o's all the time? i don't understand that.

I'm not defensive at all, you came into the thread and declared there was no discussion about your infraction/ban when it wasn't the case at all which I was pointing out.

I am going to hazard a guess and say that Johnny has had a few infractions that he is a bit sore about and does not feel they are justified?

Even if I did try to contact you about my ban, I don't think it would've changed anything, because of the nature of the ban.

No i'm not. :joker: But it would be nice if the rules were more transparent/fairer for everyone. I'd like that to happen.:wavey:

Smithy has a point Kizzy, using this to query or moan about your personal infractions will result in the thread being closed

Smithy creating drama will probably do that too, nobody likes being sworn at and I'm no different.
If I break a rule report me, don't snipe on threads at me.

when you say take it like a man... is that vastly different from taking it like a woman?

I think one thing that members should remember when it comes to accusations of Bias and such is that I really cannot be arsed to actively hold a grudge or be biased towards someone. That takes effort and I don't care enough to hate someone to such an extent that I'd abuse my mod privileges to get back at them.

I think some members like to think that we're some sort of evil masterminds that spend our days posting in Tibb Towers planning ways to make those members suffer when that takes effort and I simply do not give enough of a **** to do that ****.

I'd say the same goes for the other mods, our lives do not revolve around making you suffer.
