Those poor hostages must be terrified

If any survive, it will be luck. These men clearly went in with one objective

I don't understand this point, France is a predominantly catholic country

Drew. 13-11-2015 10:04 PM

it has been over an hour now, you'd have thought this guy keeping them hostage had been attacked or piled on by these people by now

Completely irrelevant though.

Imagine just a handful of covert Islamic Jihadists residing in Newham and Tower Hamlets say. They were born here or have immigrated here years ago. They have weapons including firerarms, grenades and bombs, and they are waiting for the word to act.

How long do you think it takes for news that Jihadi John has been killed to reach ISIS heads? Certainly these bastards will know within minutes - far more quickly than we will learn of it that's for sure. Then how long do you think that it will take the heads of ISIS to organise a revenge strike or series of strikes? Within hours.

Even a handful of heavily armed insane murderers are all that's needed to subdue and take hostage large amounts of unarmed ordinary people - especially when such action is by surprise.

Perhaps ISIS were already planning to hit France on Friday the 13th before Jihadi John was killed. Who knows, but the point is, it does not take major organising or months of planning to execute these types of cowardly surprise attacks on unnarmed, unsuspecting civilians.

....'police operations are assaulting a site'..?..

I think you could be right, the strikes may see well planned, but to me they seem like a series of small events that could have been set for any time, they just needed an hour or two to mobilize their forces so to speak.

I guess the truth will come out eventually

Crimson Dynamo 13-11-2015 10:08 PM

Yes there is not too much planning to walking up to a cafe and unloading a Kalashnikov clip...

mizzy25 13-11-2015 10:08 PM

Exactly, and getting one guy to do it or 12 guys at different cafés is pretty much the same thing

Ammi 13-11-2015 10:10 PM

..at least 40 dead confirmed...

EspeonBB 13-11-2015 10:10 PM

And no police force in the world can prevent that kind of attack on a soft target

Crimson Dynamo 13-11-2015 10:13 PM

First time since war with algeria france has declared state of emergency

Headie 13-11-2015 10:15 PM

Things like this are why I deliberately avoid watching the news. It's so depressing and makes you fearful of even stepping outside your home.

Same. People say they're scared of "spiders" or "clowns" but the real thing to fear is humanity.
