Anyways back to the topic, I won't slag off Lily Allen but I'd be interested for her to delve a bit deeper and name those she feels SHOULD be nominated and who is less deserving of the short listed and should not be nominated

She did, she named Stormzy and Skepta to name but a few

MB. 22-02-2016 08:46 PM

(and I'm fairly sure she didn't name any names as to who shouldn't have been nominated until James Bay butted his greasy-haired head in)

Stormyz over who though? why are they more deserving than those nominated?

Yeah but who would she take out for them though? James Bay and who else?

I don't get those nominees at all.

Ariana Grande I could only understand being nominated if they managed to get her to attend/perform - she had a pretty much silent 2015 except for 'Focus' which was dreadful.
Bjork & Courtney are the token critics' faves but both went by fairly uneventfully / without being recognised, surely if you're going to pick an international female with indie credentials and an excellent 2015 album you'd pick Grimes?
Lana del Rey continues to tread water and do absolutely nothing new or interesting with her career
and then Meghan Bloody Trainor.

Basically I should decide every single nominee and winner. (For the record: Carly Rae Jepsen ends up winning out of Grimes, Sia, Bjork, herself & Alessia Cara. Coldplay sit at home and have some spare time.)

(and again Stormzy and Skepta are absolute wank)

James Bay needed to Let It Go didn't he?

Why should she have to name the people she doesn't think deserve to be nominated? That's literally the thing you just berated her for doing

She doesn't have to say who she doesn't think is worthy to say who she does, she thinks they should be given as fair a chance as everyone else

He also needed to Hold Back the River and... erm... nope, I don't know any other songs of his, let's move on...

Yeah let me decide that category as Coldplay and Sia fight it out.

I totally agree with Sia it's been a fantastic 18 months for her and it's sad she misses out on it

Them songs leave you with Scars with how terrible they are.

You could literally just name any combination of words now and I'd believe you

So much for Lily's songs being the forgettable ones...

She had a better year last year, i.e. the year that she was nominated for a Brit Award

Well if she's willing to pipe up about who should be nominated it's not exactly a stretch to wish her to say who they should be nominated over but apparently she can say what she likes and go unchallenged.

RichardG 22-02-2016 08:54 PM

I've never even heard of James Bay

But she was still having success after it so I feel she should have been nominated again

Amy Jade 22-02-2016 08:55 PM

I just listened to Skepta and they are indeed utter trash, they don't deserve to be nominated at all!

...five minutes ago you said that she shouldn't do that? Like I said, she's allowed to say that she thinks this kind of music should be given more representation in big award ceremonies like the Brits without slamming other artists

Is Lily Allen being too Skeptacal about The Grammys motives then?

Really? I thought that my opinions on Music was the only correct opinion?

In fact it should hit the history books with my awesome opinions on Music like Jedward, 911, Gunther And The Sunshine Girls, Lou Bega's Mambo Number 5, and of course the vocal masterpiece in It's Chico Time.

If it weren't obvious then you wouldn't feel the need to say that "they" don't deserve to be nominated

Shaun 22-02-2016 09:01 PM

Fuming that Gunther and the Sunshine Girls have been overlooked again.
