Let's be honest he's only on because of his sister and social media following cause they'd never have any other BBUSA houseguest on CBB

anyway, as the forum's resident American jackass and BBUS historian I will give a concise history of The Frankie Grande Experience for everyone unfamiliar with this stain to society :)

hello...it's me...x

So, Frankie Grande is a complete shell of a human being. He's a toxic gay in the same vein of Perez Hilton and Austin Armacost. He warrants his own entry in the DSM-5. He's entirely narcissistic and vapid and piggybacks off of his sister's "fame" even though her already-dying career consists of costarring on a terrible Nickelodeon show and releasing different variations of the same song over and over.

Frankie views himself as one of the most entertaining people alive and doesn't hesitate to let us know how entertaining is! He's hyper-aware of the cameras and his personal image and spent the first few weeks of BBUS talking in wacky accents and stuff just so we wouldn't forget how entertaining he is! My thing is, if your entire character is about entertaining, you should spend less time telling me that you're supposedly entertaining and more time actually being entertaining.

Naturally, Frankie was one of Alison Grodner's prized pigs so he had lots of production help. He was thrown into this Team America twist which basically forced two people who hated him to protect him in order to earn money (remember when BB16 was shaping up to be a war between Frankie and Derrick, and then they were forced to work together much to Derrick's chagrin?) The entire house was ready to boot him halfway through the show and tried to throw a Competition to guarantee such, but the ever-quick-thinking Grodner made the Competition such that it was easier to do by yourself rather than with a partner and didn't allow Frankie's partner to participate before he realized what a mistake he was making. If you're not convinced that production catered to his whims, remember that the house was given next-to-no alcohol bc Frankie used to be an alcoholic and cold water wasn't used in any endurance Comps bc he has a bone-related issue that makes his skin hypersensitive or summat.

Everyone's bitching about how he made some rape joke about Victoria (gross) and how he said that Jocasta should kill herself (I understand being part of the PC Brigade but when you watch BBUS you just have to let some things slide and this isn't even close to one of the worst things said on this show) and I don't even think those are some of the worst things about Frankie, but it's definitely worth noting that he's one of Those Gays who thinks that it is acceptable for him to make derogatory remarks because he's gay.

Frankie's grandfather died in the house and he held three different memorials for him specifically calculated for when Big Brother After Dark aired as some sort of metagame move. When this didn't work and the house was turning on him, he blamed his erratic gameplay on his grandfather's death rather than him just being an asshole, and then worked up this ~BIG REVEAL~ about how his sister is one of the most famous people in the world and was left dumbfounded when nobody could piece together that his last name is Grande so he is Ariana's sister (Derrick responded "oh, Amanda Grande?" in the only moment he was ever funny because you so know he was doing that just to get under Frankie's skin.) He then tried to guilt the rest of the house into keeping him in the game so he can go through with his plans to use the prize money for one of the most blatant examples of voluntourism, going to Africa and building houses and holding dance classes for impoverished African children (his GoFundMe page later found that he only had like $150 towards this cause.)

I guess I need to talk about the #Zankie thing, and: I ****ing hate Zach and I ****ing hate Frankie. That being said, Zach was a fresh-out-of-college kid who was forced to deal with realizing that he might be bicurious on national television with an audience watching his every move. Frankie is a lecherous gay who purposely threw himself at every reasonably attractive dude. Production and Tumblr tried to present this as a revolutionary, groundbreaking bromance, but in reality the whole thing was predatory and unsettling. Not to mention that Frankie coldly got the entire house to turn on Zach in a needlessly cruel way while he had to watch his whole summer unravel with no idea as to how or why it was happening this way. If you're looking for a BBUK analogue, I guess it's kinda similar to James Hill and Austin Armacost but with roles reversed?

Frankie then came in 5th place because production needed to kill another week so they froze the game and made everyone play in the same competitions over again, resulting in Frankie losing both his Head of Household status and Power of Veto  he was then not even voted in the top three for America's Favorite Player and he was jaw-dropped shocked and cried on stage and it truly was the best moment of the worst season of BBUS.

I don't even know if I'm properly explaining why Frankie sucks so much, but that's because so much of it is in his affect. BBUS generally has a problem where the behaviors of the people on the show do not resemble the behaviors of actual human beings in any way, shape, or form, and Frankie truly took this to the next level. A Frankie-heavy segment was an excuse for a bathroom break or the time for you to hit fast forward on your DVR. The producers shoved him down our throats even though literally NOBODY liked him. Not only did the internet community ****ing hated him, but the cat ladies and casual fanbase couldn't stand him either. Yet, even with his overwhelming negative popularity, the show went (and continues to!) go out of its way to shoehorn Frankie references or have him come back as a guest for an episode or feature him in the live audience on eviction night. It's one of those instances where you're left to sit there and think "wow, I'm actually offended that this is what you think I want to watch."

So there it is, a ridiculously long rant about why Frankie Grande is a bottom three BBUS HG, sandwiched firmly between Dick Donato and Dan Gheesling, neither of whom we will ever see on CBB thankfully. I'm still in utter disbelief that this diseased creature is working his way into this franchise, and I think it's more stunning because I absolutely did not see this ever happening. I'll probably watch launch night and pessimistically laugh to myself about how he's gonna be his awful self and get no comeuppance for it again, and then just stick to reading your guys' updates about how he's fulfilling his destiny to complete the trio of soul-sucking gays Perez and Austin. And yes, he's going to make it to the final week, and yes he is going to get cheered, there's nothing this show loves more than awful gays. Come to think of it, I wouldn't even want Frankie to get booed. The worst thing for Frankie would be for him to get Alex or Sam levels of indifference, but unfortunately that will never happen.

Who can remember when America voted that TA had failed their mission:

Julie: "Frankie, what kind of food would you like to eat as a have-not?"
Frankie: "Apple pie! :amazed:"
Julie: "That would be an overwhelming...no.
Frankie: D:

Macie makes it perfectly clear how abhorrent Frankie is. I would love for him to be as inconsequential as Alex and Sam, but that would never happen because he would never (ever) let it happen. I think he would be equally as mortified if he left to horrendous boos. However, Macie also makes a good point about how the British public are likely to fall for his contrived 'Rainbows and Glitter/Shine Bright Like a Frankie' nonsense.

There's no way they'll ban alcohol on CBB bc of an addiction, so good luck to him (sorry if that sounds mean, but producers will probably change the taps so they pour alcohol knowing C5)

CBS and Grodner are notoriously strict on alcohol provision anyway, she did a pre-season interview once where they asked her about the lack of alcohol and she literally said 'the more they tend to ask for alcohol, the less we'll give :hee:' :umm2: so that's one of the only things I'd dispute in that post

Oh, and not blasting cold water seems fair enough to me...

Couldn't agree more, very well said troy :clap1:

Oh, and not blasting cold water seems fair enough to me...

Oh okay, shame C5 are a little more lenient - I think our format would work better with some stricter rules like BBUSA, although I wouldn't mind them doing an all stars style series with a USA format - just with players famous for 'playing a game' like Jason etc,

BBUS is definitely stingy with alcohol to begin with but BB16 was especially, I'm sure partly to do with the whole "yeah we should probably play it safe this year after a good 70% of the HGs made bigoted remarks on a regular basis" mentality.

My thing with the cold water is that there's no way they would make the same accommodations for someone like, let's just say Danielle Murphree or Amber Borzotra. BBUS is Grodner's own personal vanity project and she most definitely saves that stuff for your Dick Donatos and Jeff Schroeders and Frank Eudys (who as much as I dislike, I can at least comprehend why a certain portion of the viewing public would take to them), and Frankie falls into that grouping.

I can't decide whether the Conor comparison or the Gerry comparison is more accurate. Both are awful anyway.
