So they haven't even said yet whether there's a proper launch episode? http://cdn.thisisbigbrother.com/cust...r77153_157.gif

The 'annoying sister' looks like Morgan Frazier.

Also the schedule for this is literally horrible for UK'ers. :(

LukeB 28-09-2016 10:05 PM

I hope this isn't successful tbh. The online only is plain silly.

if BBCan did it, it will be free and easy to watch

LukeB 28-09-2016 10:06 PM

I would actually pay for this if I could

Jack_ 28-09-2016 10:11 PM

I'm still not sure how I feel really, Jason's participation is a pull factor for me as is the experimental side of it all but "America" picking the winner really puts me off. Like, it's just dumb to mix a social and strategic game with a popularity contest  they're two completely different entities altogether

It's just left me in this limbo of not knowing whether to bother or not, and I really don't know if I'm going to have the time anyway which doesn't help. I wish they'd just stuck with the regular format or gone all out with public voting, and then I'd at least know where I stand...

LukeB 28-09-2016 10:14 PM

I will be surprised if anyone keeps up with this, it sounds full on :worry: people are at uni, work, school etc so they might miss the important bits.

I probs try but i probs give up if i can't find anything.

Headie 28-09-2016 10:15 PM

I kinda like the idea of viewers picking the winner, since only superfans will have cbs access so the casuals crappy opinions can't influence the voting.

LukeB 28-09-2016 10:17 PM

Apparently the launch won't be an episode.

Let's not pretend like 'America' isn't a pseudonym for Allison Grodner :joker:

And even if it isn't, it's still just silly to waste ten weeks positioning yourself in a social game only to then have the result determined on a whim by people who weren't actually involved in said social game. The pandering to America by people like James is bad enough on the broadcast version too, **** knows what it's gonna be like now they're gonna determine the winner

They're just too cheap to house the jury for another five weeks, that's all that's happened

caprimint 28-09-2016 10:48 PM

If America had chosen the winner between Paul and Nicole, Paul would have probably won

I've never liked the idea of the housemates choosing the winner when they have the perfect opportunity to just bus someone if they personally dislike them or vote with their hearts not their heads. You always get bitter jury whereas this way I actually think the better person will be rewarded.

Jack_ 28-09-2016 11:08 PM

I wouldn't count on that. 'America' gave Corey a Care Package and Grodscunt was dripping for Nicole, she'd probably have rigged it.

What you just described is jury management though, which is half of the game. If you can't convince (at minimum) four or five people you've lived with for three months to award you $500k/$1m you don't deserve to win. That is the game. Sure, I'm not happy with the outcome of every jury vote in history, but it is what it is and ultimately the blame (mostly) lies at the hands of the person I wanted to win - and I can deal with that, in much the same way I can if they're voted out.

But with public voting? It's on a whim, certainly in the UK the public's taste is appalling - and I know this'll be contentious but I'd go as far as to say BBUS has far better winners overall than we do. The biggest problem though isn't any of this, it's the fact that it makes no sense to spend ten weeks playing an isolated social game among your peers and then to have the winner determined by a popular vote  you could do all the work and then lose for something trivial like not being attractive, not playing up to the cameras all season, etc etc. Pick a format and stick to it

SuperV 29-09-2016 12:41 AM

Is there any USA'ers have a All Access account they want to give me the login for? :hee::hehe:

If you make it to the end and the jury doesn't vote for you to win, then that's through your own fault, not the jury's. There are no guidelines or regulations as to how one should or shouldn't vote, so if you want to win it's your job to manage the jury to the best of your ability and give them reasons to vote for you.

As for whether I'd prefer a public vote vs. a jury vote for the winner, I don't really care and I don't think a public vote would be that bad? Like, just compare the last four AFPs to the last four winners.

SuperV 29-09-2016 02:12 AM

Macie Lightfoot 29-09-2016 02:17 AM

I don't know what I'm watching but this seems atrocious <3
