Really,Dimbleby needs to step down on these programmes.
He said at the start the questions weren't known beforehand but for me were easy to predict what they would be,most of them anyway.

Scarlett. 02-06-2017 09:03 PM

Too much of Corbyn's time was taken up by the silly nuclear weapons stuff, which is the least likely thing to happen during a PM's term.

smudgie 02-06-2017 09:03 PM

Best debate so far.
Both managed to get their answers out without heckling. So we heard more from them both.
Dimbleby is far superior to Paxman.

Paxman was once good til he started believing his own hype.

True. I used to like his no nonsense approach, shame he has lost it now.

I do wish someone would have raised the fox hunting issue though,it looks like no one cares about it and they do.

ASDA too Smudgie, the ASDA near me has put all staff on 16 hour contracts and also uses zero hours ones too.

This is why employment levels have dropped. If you include night workers, Asda needs four times as many staff as they did before. Less employment but more people working less hours on zero hour contracts.

I don't think people realise after the first nuke goes off, we're already ****ed, by that point it doesn't really matter what happens next, there's a reason the doomsday clock is so close to midnight.

I agree but then I'm totally for dismantling Trident. If NK sends a nuke our way and in return we send a nuke their way. None of us will be here to know if our nuke got to its destination.

The more of the world that doesn't get nuked, the more likely our world will survive and our animals won't become extinct. If humans want to play war games at the expense of our wildlife, I want no part of it.

Probably the freevote element Kazanne.
I don't recall although I was only 9 at the time, Tony Blair and Labour being pressed on it in 2001 as to their freevote to banning it.

Of course had Dimbleby shut up more, more questions maybe could have been got asked.

Oh gosh,I can't stand Paxman either.
His questioning of both was really pathetic.

Yeah pretty much

Greg! 02-06-2017 11:07 PM

Jez won despite the moronic questions about trident x

Kizzy 02-06-2017 11:19 PM

Isn't it pathetic how they use his dislike of nukes as a stick to beat him with?

James 02-06-2017 11:27 PM

I didn't watch it, but did they bring up Corbyn's dislike of NATO too?

No they didn't.

If we're going to revert to insults then "Jezza" needed a kitchen role to wipe off the sweat from his brow after the nuclear weapons and IRA questions which his supporters seem to ignore and stick up for him for - refusing to answer a question is pathetic and now I don't want his 73 year old crusty ass running this country by the time the next parliament ends - clearly showed he is not fit to be Prime Minister and thank God we can get rid of him next week! Go back to your allotment and stick to growing veg and leave the big decisions to the capable and not the socialists.

Jack_ 03-06-2017 12:14 AM

Unfortunately the PM came across well despite as usual skirting around questions with Crosby's soundbites.

I wish Jeremy would just say he'd press the button in retaliation, I admire his lifelong belief but we have so many bloodthirsty ****ing dolts in this country who are oblivious to the fact that if anyone uses a nuclear weapon, that is it for humanity, and tit-for-tat retaliation is futile.

Where's the accusations of right wing bias in this audience I wonder?

lostalex 03-06-2017 12:21 AM

Corbyn has some good ideals (ideals, not ideas), but he is not qualified to lead.

Jack_ 03-06-2017 12:25 AM

And neither is Mrs Weak and Wobbly.

I may have deplored the pig ****er's policies (though certainly not as much as hers), but at least he was statesmanlike.

Jack_ 03-06-2017 12:27 AM

in tears

Northern Monkey 03-06-2017 03:40 AM

Nobody wants a nuclear war. They just want to know that the deterrent is actually working as a deterrent.Having a PM who says he wouldn't use it is not a deterrent.
