Because it's not like you "serious debaters" squabbling like kids everyday is having any sort knock on affect on the rest of the forum is it.

you have made 5 threads this year

perhaps if you put more into the forum you would get more out as you seem to be very negative about Tibb all the time I have noticed recently

obviously if there are things going on in your private life i apoligise

Simply ,Why would it bother some people who don'treally use it so much they want it axed ? as Cherie said the chat threads have been the cause of bother etc lots of times,,but some of us don't go in there as it doesn't interest us and serious debates would be ok if people could take a differing opinion and be civil in their responses, even when it gets heated most adults can sort it out, I think some people just love the drama and keep trying to wind people up.

..well maybe ask people why it bothers them instead of just reiterating that it shouldnt?

Christ, for a few ‘serious debaters’ you guys dont seem to want much of a 2-sided debate.

I agree. Stop your baiting. Everyone is entitled to their opinion on whether a subforum should be axed, regardless of how much they use it. So lets stop saying **** like that so we can discuss it properly.

Sorry to disappoint but posting on this forum isn't my be all and end all like it seems to be for you. Probably why I can laugh it off when a mod deletes my posts instead of throwing tantrums and starting witch hunts.

That was angry? Sorry I forgot you were a bit fragile when people oppose your views, don't do another one of those silent protests on us :worry:

Can I sum it up for the SD closer - downers:

"I don't like SD and want it axed but I go into it all the time to see whats going on, especially when there is a juicy argument".

How rude :/

If in chat and games they spoke of anything deeper than their love for the latest meme it might draw out some genuine resonance towards a topic.

Look at politics in the UK at the moment there are personal insults, backbiting, infighting and spin ... why would here be any different?
The issues we see on the news that are brought here for debate will create a degree of polarisation due to our personal life experiences, occasionally that can create a distinct division as is seen in wider society, we are a cross section here too so why would we have to be held to a higher standard?

Mocking people for attempting to tackle contemporary issues serves no purpose, I am not infallible and occasionally become frustrated I make no apologies for that, personally I find it helps to come here and voice my feelings on current affairs it's a form of escapism.
It's disconcerting to see that your thoughts and feelings are being denigrated to nothing but the ravings of the demented.

It may not always be rational, that is the nature of debate occasionally, I would never purposefully set out to offend or insult anyone, but I can't hand on heart say I've not expressed an opinion that I know will prove controversial... What's the alternative, compromise my principles?

I appreciate there are those who are feeling exactly the same, I also appreciate there are those whose sole purpose it to troll, it's possible to avoid these posters to maintain a thread topic but not always.
That said I see this as nothing more than a thread started to maintain the drama that recent threads created and had no initial positive intent anyway IMO however I felt it necessary to attempt to give a reasoned view based on my opinion as a regular contributor to SD.
