Wow she ain't getting picked up by another channel huh
|
698k for BB at 10pm while C5 had 1.1m for Paddington at 9pm.
I know people keep saying 10pm is the problem, but BB has almost always aired at 10pm. During BB17 they started airing inconsistently at 9 and 10pm and the 10pm shows literally averaged 150k more than the 9pm shows for the whole series. Last year was a different story and was all just rubbish, which is why I thought it was just a blip and that this year would be back up to the C5 norm, but nope... |
And from here it’s got The Circle to contend with for three weeks.
All we can hope now is that the catch up numbers are huge. |
The Circle has been promoted by C4 within an inch of its life, theres adverts all over social media. Still think it'll flop mind

BB is doing terribly. It shouldn't be on at 9pm as it cannot compete or do better than the current Channel 5 shows on at 9pm.
|
all their insta comments are about it being at 10 so it's obviously an issue
|
Well it's on almost 3 months later than usual so that is also a factor.
Meddling with the launch date killed BB16 and it didn't work this time around either. |

10pm has never been an issue but I never thought about the fact it's usually summer, not term time. Maybe that is the issue. Catch up will be interesting

Are we even gonna get 1m officials nn

Can they stop burying it at 10pm :skull:

10pm over the summer doesn't matter because most people are off. 10pm in term time is a problem. C5 know this and have deliberatley done it.

I think the main problem - and always has been with C5 - is starting a new series so soon after a celebrity one finishes.
People feel they have just watched the final of Big Brother and aren't ready for a new series to start. |

How much did the officials add to the BB18 ratings btw?
|
Yeah, C5 running so many series together has really reduced the interest in it. (I think the other main problem is that they targeted a younger audience - because that earns the most the advertising revenue - and that has been at the expense of part of the audience.)
Last time they ran a civilian series right after a celebrity one was in 2011, when it first started on Channel 5. It had been off the air for nearly a year. I checked the ratings for 2011. CBB8 averaged 2.8m, and BB12 1.55m, so a big decline. Comparable to what you are seeing now. By the way check this: "The [CBB8] launch show received 5.3 million viewers, a 21.9% launch share, and also peaked at 8 million, winning its time slot. It gave Channel 5 its highest-ever audience outside of sports programmes and films, and one of its top five ratings of all time." From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Celebr...8_(UK)#Ratings |

Anyway I genuinely don't think the term time thing is a good excuse. I literally don't know a single person who sets themselves a bedtime for school/college and most just go to sleep when they're ready. |
