Apparently there's an album listening party at one of the big labels in London tonight - which means it won't be long now.

This version of Erotica is a stroke of genius. It's so different and yet produces a very similar aural backdrop of 'erotica'. |

Title of the first single is "Batuka" (apparently).

I am really impressed Madonna’s team have kept everything so top secret.
It looks like we could literally get a music video, press release and album cover all at once without a hint of any preview. Totally different to the Rebel Heart fiasco where it leaked 3 months before the official release date. |
Giving tribal vibes

Batuka is a Mirwais production too, but you'd never guess looking at the clip above. |

I've just been watching a video of Madonna putting together her MDNA tour. Watch from 3:12 onwards. What a genius. |

It's great to see you guys posting here again. :hee:
Here's some information a fan posted about what we saw in the clip here:
This will be probably one of the concepts of her next tour or the next era: "As a dance, the traditional batuque follows a precise ritual. In a batuque session, a group of performers (almost always just women) gather themselves in a circle in a scenario that is called terreru [teˈʀeɾu]. This scenario does not have to be a precise location, it may be a back yard in a house or it may be a public square, for instance. The musical piece begins with the players (that may be simultaneously or not batukaderas and kantaderas) executing the first movement, while one of the players goes to the center to perform the dance. In this first movement the dance is made only with body swinging, with an alternate movement of the legs playing the downbeat. In the second movement, while the players perform the rhythm and sing in unison, the dancer changes the dancing. Now, the dancing (called da ku tornu [dɐ ku ˈtoɾnu]) is made with a hip swing managed through the quick flexion of the knees, accompanying the rhythm. When the song is over, the dancer pulls back and another takes her place, and a new song begins. These performings may last for hours until the end of the batuque session." |
I’ve only ever heard the dance remix/single version of what it feels like for a girl but i heard the album version today and it’s so gorgeous :bawling: i think it’s a lot better actually

I agree with you, Sullen Girl. Other fans seem to prefer the remix over the album version but it's not for me i'm afraid. Give me the album version all day long. lol |

and the most underrated song from RH deserved better too |
Quote:
There’s actually SO many good songs on RH for such a cluttered album. Ghosttown would’ve smashed if a younger singer sang it tbh |
Living for Love was such a bad decision as lead single. Its not even one of the strongest on the album!
Messiah, SEX, Holy Water, Inside Out, Wash all over me, Unapologetic Bitch, Best Night and Devil Pray deserved the best and all got cast aside for LFL and Bitch Im Madonna which was a mess :skull: |
