Well, what can I say.... I'm shocked... I won't say too much on this subject.. but .. shocked... All I will say is that I'm with the majority here in saying that Karma should not be taken so seriously.

lily. 15-06-2007 11:08 AM

It definitely shouldn't. But, to be honest, I think it's caused more problems than anything else and I bet Mark is regretting his decision to add it in the first place.

Sunny_01 15-06-2007 11:31 AM

Slarti - I am pretty sure without clicking the linky thing (to lazy) which thread you are on about. I didnt agree with taking points away for spelling and grammer but I certainly NEVER made a complaint about your use of Karma! I said what I had to say in the thread and as far as I was concerned that was my two pennies worth done.

I hate these sweeping statements about MODS and fairness, I have no powers over Karma, none, nill, zip, nada so cant take Stropz evil powers from her even if I wanted to. I would recommend that you speak to Mark and let him know you are unhappy, if you have not already done so. We lowly Mods come in for a lot of flack when in fact there are so many things we have no control over.

I couldnt give a monkies who takes what from who, I dont think it should be a police state, you take it, you give it end of who cares in the big scale of things, it is meant to be a fun forum tool that people can choose to use or not use. If people hate it, turn it off, if they love it leave it on and do as you please with it is what should happen here.

I take Karma from people who get on my nips, or who make annoying posts, I do prefer to just give +karma though it makes me feel better!

And I do exactly the same!!

And I'm not suggesting you reported me for my anti-spelling mistake policies, lol!! The little hissy fit that Amy21 threw in the lounge yesterday is probably what has prompted my current punishment, which irritates me even more since it wasn't me picking on her!

Sunny_01 15-06-2007 11:43 AM

I know and understand where you are coming from slarti but from a personal point of view I am fed up of being clumped in with MODS in general and getting the blame for stuff that has nothing to do with me or is out of my control. I am feeling very sorry for myself today so you had better be very sorry about making me sad or I will give you +Karma

Mrluvaluva 15-06-2007 11:44 AM

Aww. Leave Sunny alone. And Slarti. I gave you + karma this morning. lol

Slartibartfast 15-06-2007 11:48 AM

No pleeeaase Sunny, no positive karma!!

If I said you're a hot sexy lady with brains and beauty combined, would that cheer you up??? :blush2:

That's the best post I have read on here regarding Karma. Why should it be policed when it's only a bit of fun and above all, it's optional.

Sunny_01 15-06-2007 12:01 PM

Why thank you Stropz! at last I got something right lol

lily. 15-06-2007 12:03 PM

That's just the thing Sunny. You get it right a LOT of the time, but usually it's in U2U cuz you can't say what you really think in public!!!! mwahahaha

Evil Wimmins of the World Wide Web unite!!!!!!!!

Sunny_01 15-06-2007 12:04 PM

lol shhh you will have people thinking I am a decent person if you say things like that, cant be having that :cheer:

nodisharmony 15-06-2007 12:06 PM

Well, if we all look at this thread very carefully, we can see exactly what it was all about originally.

Forum member "Stropz" was injecting some humour into the forum & bringing the "Karma" situation into a brighter & more funny light.

But suddenly, "something-changed-all-that" & once again, accusations & more, regarding ("+" & "-" Karma) and who gave and who received and who took away and how many and where and when and more boring stuff like that:sleep::sleep:

Then we see that a few forum-member's names get mentioned within this thread and more moans and groans regarding the Karma situation, then accusations get brought about and moderators get accused of this & that, when actually they are doing (Nothing Wrong)

Well, there is a very simple answer to all of this problem:bigsmile:

1) Those who abuse Karma (lose the privilege of having Karma)
2) Those who complain about Karma (lose the privilege of having Karma)
3) Those who dislike Karma altogether (lose the privilege of having Karma)
4) Those who wish to publicly criticise mods & admins regarding Karma (lose the privilege of having Karma)
5) Those who cause any type of problem you could ever think of regarding Karma (lose the privilege of having Karma)

_____________________________________________

After that happens, everyone who enjoys Karma can live in peace and harmony & enjoy Karma for what it is, just a bit of fun.

Those who wish to cause problems over it, in any-way-shape-or-form (lose the privilege of having Karma)

That sorts the problem out straight away:thumbs:

Also, it works for many who do enjoy Karma, who don't want to have, what they enjoy, taken away by a few disgruntal troublemakers/complainers &:sleep::sleep::sleep: members(No offence!!!!) Who want to spoil what they enjoy(Karma)

I'm not in a very good mood. I had + 12 this time last week and one pr*ck after another has taken it from me. It brings my whole mood down. I've been on site all of this week so I've not posted much on the forum so who ever is doing it they're doing it for personal reasons. I don't find it funny at all. It makes me want to attack forum members who I feel may be respnsible.

I've given + karma to two people this week becasue they posted very good posts. I think that is how the karma system should be used. I feel that the karma system is being used by little cliques to big up their mates and anonymously snipe at forum members who they don't like.

Sunny_01 15-06-2007 12:09 PM

Bravo Nick - what a superb post - I applaud you and if you had Karma switched on I would give you some

*Throws regathered toys out of the pram*.Some little turnip's taken karma off me :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:.

I demand something is done or I will chuck even more toys out of my pram and I may even boot a door.

Go for it - see who cares if you kick the doors in this place, they need re-painted anyway :joker:

I don't agree with nodis at all. My point is, if I'm wrong then tell me that I'm wrong? Tell me that people are not using it to anonymously snipe at members. I feel they are. I've received karma for making posts that have explained things to people and for making posts that have made people laugh I always want that privelege. I just believe that the system has not been thought through. Not in any way shape or form have the peole who bought it in thought about its consequences. I'm convinced of that.

Yes, and welcome everyone to Nodis' police state. 1984 all over again, an Orwellian nightmare of vast proportions!!

And you're using brackets all wrong, it's irritating and I have no negative karma to give you!!

lily. 15-06-2007 12:18 PM

I'm assuming you are joking G.

And LMAO@ slartibartfast!

GhettoSuperstar 15-06-2007 12:18 PM

Cool.

Does anyone think that karma should only be '+'ed instead of + & -?

Sunny_01 15-06-2007 12:23 PM

nope I think people should either switch it off or get used to the idea that you will be given or lose Karma as others see fit :thumbs2:

Not agreeing with me is pretty commonplace between you & I, so (No surprise there:rolleyes:)
